SELF-COMPASSION: BUILDING RESILIENCE IN HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS (PART 1)

Regular price  $ 0.00
Add to cart

Webinar Description: The enduring problem of empathetic distress in healthcare
workers is closely tied to their tendency to internalize their patients'
problems. Over time, this ongoing burden can lead to detrimental physiological
effects. However, research has shown that by practicing self-compassion and then
applying that to patients, we can be more productive and better handle the
stress that arises when caring for others.  This course will focus on the
concept of compassion and equip learners with tools to practice self-compassion
in order to help themselves cope so they can better help their patients.

Learner Outcomes: Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able
to:

 1. Define the different physiological responses that arise from empathetic
    distress vs. compassion.
 2. Identify why empathetic distress can lead to detrimental physiological
effects in health care workers and how compassion has the opposite effect.
 3. Recognize the definition of emotional regulation and practice how to address
it through trigger identification and training.

Successful Completion: Participants will watch the on-demand recording in its
entirety and complete an attendance verification and assessment in the Academy
Learning Portal. You will have 3 months from the date of purchase to complete
and review the course material. You will receive a reminder email 2 weeks before
the expiration date.

Therapy Assistants, Physical Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistants, Social
