HOW WE CAN HELP


OUR AIM IS TO EMPOWER AND INSTIL A SENSE OF CONTROL IN EVERY GARDENER WE SUPPORT

Regardless of age, ability or circumstances we are here to help.


GARDENING SUPPORT

Do you need an hour or two to help repot, plant, prune or weed?  We can help
with most gardening tasks.  Give us a call and we can schedule a time that suits
you.


NDIS APPROVED SUPPORT WORKERS

Do you have NDIS funding and would love a support worker who can not only help
you in the garden, but share your passion for green spaces?  No problem. Call us
today and we can write up a service agreement that meets your needs.


COMPANIONSHIP

Do you have a loved one who would love a friend to check in with them and do
some gardening, then stay for a cuppa tea and a catch-up? At Companion Planting
we never over-schedule, so our clients don’t feel like we are rushing away as
soon as we have finished gardening.


REGULAR SCHEDULED GARDENING SUPPORT

Do you have reduced mobility, strength, balance, or energy levels and need some
help?  We can come and support you in your garden as often as you require.  No
lock in contracts, just ‘as needed’ help.


GARDENING ADVICE AND SUPPORT

New to gardening? Or just new to growing in subtropical Brisbane?  We are always
happy to share our experiences growing vegetables, fruit trees, natives and
more.  We also have experience with stingless bee hives, worm farms, composts,
and backyard chickens. 


ADVICE AND SUPPORT WITH NATIVE STINGLESS BEES

Do you have a question about Australia Native Stingless Bees?

Whether you are looking to buy your first hive, ask a question about your hive
health or need support to split your native hive, we can help. We have
experience with Tetragonula Hockings, Tetragonula Carbonaria and Austroplebeia
Australis native bees.

OUR WORKING PROCESS

At Companion Planting, we believe in simplicity and transparency when it comes
to pricing. That’s why we charge a straightforward hourly rate, with no call-out
fee. We happily provide one-off support with a specific task, or ongoing weekly,
fortnightly, or monthly support. Change your mind? Cancel with no fee.

HI, I AM SAMANTHA!

My love of gardening started when I was quite young and has continued to grow. 
I live in Sandgate with my family, and I have a background in primary school
teaching.

My backyard is filled with fruit trees, raised vegetables beds and ornamental
gardens filled with a variety of flowers and natives. We have backyard chickens,
worm farms and native stingless bees.

I truly love supporting people in their gardens and seeing the joy that it
brings.


HI, I’M CRISTYAN!

Cris for short. I’m Brazilian and moved to Brisbane in 2019, following my heart.
Since I arrived, I’ve been involved with environmental education, supporting
people to (re)connect with themselves and their communities by reconnecting with
nature.

As a nature lover and advocate, I strongly believe that wealth and happiness can
grow on trees. Therefore, following this belief and permaculture principles and
ethics, my husband and I have been nurturing a small food forest in our backyard
for us and for wildlife.

It is always a joy to spot a new dweller around and think that, in our garden,
they feel they are safe and belong, like us.




WE ARE HERE TO ASSIST


ARE YOU LOOKING FOR A WAY TO GET INTO YOUR GARDEN, BUT NEED SUPPORT?

Gardening can provide a sense of purpose and accomplishment, building
self-esteem and confidence while improving physical health and memory.


HOME VISITS

We work with you in your space to give you the independence and joy of gardening
at home.


NDIS

All staff hold a current first aid certificate, blue card and NDIS approval.

Sam has been an absolute angel for my garden (and for my mental health too). She
has a love of all things gardening and she cares for your garden as if it were
her own. She can work alongside you or work away on her own depending on your
needs. Sam has been instrumental in not only getting my garden under control but
also gently guiding me to make some changes that make it a lot more manageable
