ABOUT THIS EVENT

 * 1 hour
 * Mobile eTicket

United Way of Central Indiana is proud to host Matthew Desmond, Pulitzer
Prize-winning author of “Evicted,” for an imperative community conversation this
spring in Indianapolis.

Join us on April 27 at the Indiana State Museum to hear from Desmond as he talks
about his latest book, "Poverty, by America," and explores how such persistent
poverty can exist in a land of plenty.

Through his writing, Desmond outlines: "In order to understand the causes of
poverty, we must hold a mirror up to ourselves. Are we — we the secure, the
insured, the housed, the college educated, the lucky — somehow responsible for
all this suffering?”

General admission and VIP tickets are now available. VIP tickets include
preferred seating and a copy of Desmond's book, to be signed at a private
reception with the author after the event.

United Way looks forward to presenting this event alongside generous sponsors
Glick Philanthropies, Indianapolis Neighborhood Housing Partnership, The Mind
Trust and other community partners.

Space is limited, so secure your spot today.

** When purchasing tickets, please ensure that you have entered the name and
email address for each individual attendee. This information will allow us to
communicate important pre-event information to all attendees. **
