Starting to go a little stir crazy? The ghosts of vacations past are haunting
travelers who have suddenly become grounded, and daydreaming of getaways has
helped break up the monotony of working from home. While many of us aren’t quite
ready to book a trip to a bustling resort, looking ahead to a beach trip and
staying at private rental sounds delightful. If you’re in need of some vitamin-D
and a change of scenery, we’ve rounded up 8 properties where you can relax and
recharge with confidence.

THE FLORIDA PANHANDLE

The sparkling white sands of Rosemary Beach are waiting to greet you at this
stunning rental. Located near picturesque Seaside, this carriage house boasts
Gulf views and plenty of amenities like a fitness center and pool. During the
1-minute walk to the beach, you’ll stroll through a charming neighborhood, plus
you’re just minutes from the buzzing part of Rosemary Beach, with restaurants
and locally owned boutiques. Is Fido feeling claustrophobic from quarantine?
Bring him; pets are welcome at this rental!

MIAMI, FL

There’s a frozen Miami Vice calling your name from the lovely balcony at
this Miami condo. This luxury high-rise unit has beautiful views of Biscayne Bay
and puts you equidistant to attractions like Little Havana and South Beach.
After the sun sets, you’ll be in a prime location to enjoy some of the best
restaurants Miami has to offer and feel the buzzing energy of the nightlife.

SANTA BARBARA, CA

Soak up the Southern California sun at this beautiful Summerland retreat. With
three bedrooms, there’s plenty of space for the whole family. The gorgeous ocean
views will no doubt lure you to the water. We recommend Butterfly Beach, which
is only an 8-minute drive from the house. Wander through the gardens at
Lotusland, enjoy fresh seafood at the Santa Barbara Shellfish Company, and
stroll State Street, which is full of lively shops and restaurants. Santa
Barbara is a great place to relax while still social distancing.

CHARLESTON, SC

Time seems to slow down in the South and Charleston is one of its most charming
cities to visit. Unwind at this beautiful 2-story home, which is just a short
walk from historic King Street. Stroll the palm tree-lined streets of downtown
Charleston, nosh on Southern comfort food at Husk or Leon’s Oyster Bar, and shop
the local boutiques. On the weekend, head out to nearby Folly Beach to soak up
the sun and enjoy the gorgeous white sands of the South Carolina shore.

NEWPORT, OR

When Starfish Point boasts that it’s “steps from the beach,” it’s not kidding
around. This ocean-facing collection of six family-friendly condos features
amenities like free parking, WiFi, a playground, garden and barbecue grills.
It’s located smack in the middle of the Oregon Coast which means freedom from
large crowds and plenty of room to discover local attractions like the Yaquina
Head Lighthouse and Yaquina Head Marine Garden—a treasure trove of tide pools
and marine life!

GALVESTON, TX

Galveston is the beach town for Texans and it’s a great location for a spring or
summer getaway. Everything’s bigger in Texas, which will make having plenty of
elbow room a cinch. This condo is just steps from the beach, with gorgeous
views, and a pool. It’s also just a 2-minute walk to the 61st Street fishing
pier, which makes for a nice stroll if you tire of the sand.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA

The Northern California coastline offers some jaw-dropping views. This cottage,
located on Wright’s Beach, is just a smidge north of Bodega Bay. Watch the
surfers catch some waves in the morning then spend the afternoon relaxing on the
beach. If you get thirsty, tasting rooms at local wineries are at your
fingertips.

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ

Been cooped up in tight quarters with family during the pandemic? Grab your
entire quarantine crew and rent this beautiful home in Atlantic City. With 11
bedrooms, there’s plenty of room for everyone and lots of space to spread out. A
2-minute walk will land you in the sands of Atlantic City Beach where you can
spend a few days breathing the fresh sea air and enjoying some much needed
vitamin-D.

We had a wonderful time on the 6th flour at Lahania Shores, Lahania, Maui
Hawaii in April. it was on the beach, great view, paddle boarding to the
“shark pit”(never saw any), lots of sea turtles. Face covering required
every where! Loved it!!!
