COMPANIES Don't miss out on the headlines from Companies. Followed categories will be added to My News. follow One of the world’s most successful software companies has announced a fresh Australian recruitment drive with an aim of recruiting more than 1000 new research and development employees. Atlassian, founded by Australian businessmen Scott Farquhar and Mike Cannon Brookes, will use a branded RV to drive across major cities from Adelaide to the Sunshine Coast, in a new pitch to Australian workers following last month’s Jobs and Skills Summit in Canberra. The company said it would be advertising their “work from anywhere” policy as a means of attracting new employees. The RV used by tech company Atlassian advertising as many as 1000 new roles available in the country. Picture: Atlassian Atlassian was founded in 2002 by Farquhar and Cannon-Brookes when the pair were at the University of NSW and has since grown to be Australia’s biggest tech business. Like many tech companies the business software provider boomed during the work-from-home revolution in 2020 and 2021. In November last year, the company’s Nasdaq-listed shares hit a record high price of $US483.13, valuing the Sydney-headquartered firm at more than $US100 billion. And now the company is looking to expand its Australian team, and they have started a recruitment drive to hire 1,032 R&D employees across Australia. Some of the roles being advertised by the company are in analytics and data science, engineering, marketing, customer experience and product management. The company would not disclose the salary packages on offer, however, according to job site Seek the average salary for a data scientist is between $115,000 and $135,000. A product manager’s salary ranges from $120,000 to $140,000 and a marketing manager’s salary ranges from $95,000 to $115,000, according to the website. Kevin Dietsch/Getty Images/AFP Atlassian’s website tells prospective employees that they can work from the office or home and even overseas if the company has a legal business entity there. “And our digital-first culture means we default to virtual meetings and place greater emphasis on async communications,” they company’s career page says. Beginning on Tuesday, an Atlassian-branded RV, dubbed the “Atlassivan” will be based in Sydney’s CBD before making its way to Canberra, Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane as well as Wollongong, Newcastle, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast.
