When you select Display as icon in the Object dialog box, Office shows you the
default icon associated with the type of file you've chosen to insert in your
document or presentation. 

This Change Icon dialog shows other suitable icon (.ico) files associated with
the type of file you've chosen to insert as an object.

Select the icon you want to appear on your slide or in your document to
represent your object.

If the app associated with the object is a Microsoft 365 app, the dialog box
will likely show several icons to choose from. If the associated app is a
non-Microsoft app, the dialog box usually only shows one icon. However, you can
select Browse to look for other options. The Browse dialog box opens to a folder
that contains all icons related to the app. 

Once you select the icon you want and click OK in the Object dialog box, the
object you've selected will be inserted in your document or presentation as a
clickable object, represented by the icon of your choice. When that inserted
icon is double-clicked, the represented object file will open in the associated
app, available to be viewed or edited.
