Each course provides Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours, which satisfy API's ICP recertification requirements. EQUIPMENT INCLUSION In this on-demand video course, you will learn how to effectively identify the equipment that should be included in a facility's process safety management (PSM) program, specifically the facility’s mechanical integrity (MI) program. The instructor will provide guidance on the different criteria that should be considered when determining which equipment to include in a program. You will also learn about the various “layers of protection” in preventing a loss of primary containment (LOPC) and how to work through them to identify equipment that should be included. Furthermore, you will delve into the different types of equipment and learn how to break down those pieces of equipment into smaller components. By analyzing the components of each equipment type, you will be able to determine which ones can be excluded from the program. To further enhance your learning, the course includes a final exam and a workshop at the end where you will apply the concepts covered in the course. You will be provided with a process and its details and asked to determine which types of equipment from that process should be included in a safe and compliant program. CPDs: 1 Click here to register DAMAGE MECHANISMS This on-demand video course aims to enhance your understanding of damage mechanisms and their impact on mechanical integrity in facilities. It provides an overview of API RP 571, Damage Mechanisms Affecting Fixed Equipment in the Refining Industry—the industry's primary resource on damage mechanisms. The course covers reactor effluent cooler (REAC) systems, a very dangerous system in oil refineries. You will also gain a better understanding of two dangerous damage mechanisms: sulfidation and high temperature hydrogen attack (HTHA). Additionally, the course covers damage mechanisms affecting Amine Units, a comparison of inspection compliance programs with inspection excellence programs, and a brief overview of the most pervasive damage mechanism in our industry: external corrosion. CPDs: 1 Click here to register PRESSURE RELIEF DEVICES This on-demand video course provides an introduction to the basics of pressure relief devices (PRDs) for mechanical integrity professionals. Topics covered include a review of pertinent codes and standards for pressure relief, recognition of PRD installation issues, mitigation of deficiencies that cause pressure relief valve (PRV) instability, maintaining PRV reliability through best practices in inspection and testing, and finally, a discussion on procedures to prevent overpressure during maintenance.
