If we had it our way, all of us would be on crammed on a gondola, sipping Hot
Toddys up to the snowy slopes. Since our parents have been patiently waiting for
a ceremony though, we decided mountain-adjacent June nuptials would suffice.
There are plenty of wish lanterns to be lit and bottles of champagne waiting to
be popped – all we need are your lovely faces.

THE COUPLE

One fateful summer a few years ago two kids traveled to the Sasquatch! Music
Festival in Washington as strangers. Riley was trying to navigate the crowd at
the Fleet Foxes set (who knew folks could get so riled up over folk music?), but
her wellies gave way to an especially slippery mud pit. She wiped out. As she
mustered the coordination to get on her feet some goofy, gap-toothed guy started
bounding over to her “rescue.” Instead, he took them both out and they collapsed
like bowling pins. Her first thought? “This boy needs to do less.” After that?
“He’s actually pretty cute.” They laughed, introduced themselves. He said his
name was Grey. They had been standing for hours and cleanliness was a lost cause
at that point, so they sat there in the mud listening to “White Winter Hymnal.”
She got his number. He tried to keep his cool.

witty and fun. Since the book is a collection of advice-column letters, you can
flip open and read a couple at a time, which is nice for a bus ride or before a
nap by the ocean.

DAY JOB: Museum curator, Part-time bread baker

Where are you going for Grey’s Bachelorette party: Can I say? Well if it were up
to me, we would be in Vegas, maybe even right this minute. But Viv voted for
relaxing girl time ’in Puerto Rico, complete with mud masks and thai massages.
Sadly, no male strippers.

Day Job: Just crushing pre-school for now!
T-I-F-F-A-N-Y (as she’ll proudly spell it out for you) is Daughter to Elsye
Laughlin and Goddaughter to Riley. She knows all the words to that Disney
musical (you know the one) and has moves to match. Dance partners need not
apply, Grey’s already got her queued up for the second dance at the reception.

First person to swim the hotel pool, sans suit: Me. But Riley is notorious for

DAY JOB: Marketing VP, Speaks five languages – including Mandarin

You’re at Sing Sing, what is your karaoke song: The last time I was there, maybe
two years ago, it was my buddy’s bachelor party weekend. I did that Queen song
‘Somebody to love.’ Don’t judge me, it was after innumerous Sake bombs.

Latched arm-in-arm with Riley for years now, Paul is thoroughly prepared for
their trip down the aisle and there’s no chance he’s slipping up on the big day.
Although, he’s never quite mastered that pesky letting go part. So he isn’t
making any promises.
