MY MISSION Committed to make a difference MY PLANS Proactive and Action Oriented FAQ Frequently Asked Questions MESSAGE ME Connect with me here ABOUT ME YOUR VOICE MATTERS AT RUBY HILL. VOTE FOR CHANGE IN THE HOA ELECTION. Dear Ruby Hill Family, My name is Shveta Geddam, and I am running for the position of Board of Director for Ruby Hill HOA. My family and I have lived in this beautiful and tranquil community for the past eight years. You may remember meeting me at the Ruby Hill Golf Club, the Community Park, or on one of your walks around Ruby Hill. I believe there is no better honor than being YOUR representative on the Board. I want to ensure that your voices are heard by listening to your ideas, sharing tips and information via quarterly newsletters, and placing safety as a top priority. I hope to bring in fresh ideas to create new opportunities for interaction within our community members, to celebrate cultural and social diversity at Ruby Hill. TOGETHER, you and I can continue to keep this community a wonderful place to live. In my role as a PUSD Parent Liaison, I assist low-income, foster families & English learners in Pleasanton with navigating the school system. My work experiences and compassionate nature give me confidence and excitement to contribute to the community, which we call home. As you go about your daily tasks, please take a moment to think about what kind of representative you believe would best hear and share your voice within the Ruby Hill community. If you are excited to be part of my mission, please vote for me before the MONTH DD, 2024 deadline. Do mail it in early to ensure your ballot gets counted. MY MISSION TO GET ELECTED TO OUR RUBY HILL HOA BOARD IN THIS CURRENT ELECTION TO BRING IN CHANGE & TRANSPARENCY, MAKE OUR HOA EFFICIENT, AND CREATE A STRONG COMMUNITY THAT THRIVES OVER NEXT FEW YEARS. MEET YOUR CANDIDATE: SHVETA GEDDAM We moved to Ruby Hill in early 2016 from New York City. My husband Sid had a cloud software company that was acquired by a large Silicon Valley-based corporation. Moving to Pleasanton was a change, but Ruby Hill made it seem like the best decision ever! Over the past eight years, we’ve made many friends here and enjoy living in this beautiful community. We have two children. Our son is a freshman at George Washington University; our daughter is a junior at Amador Valley High School. We are also members of Ruby Hill Golf Club. I work at Pleasanton Unified School District as a Parent Liaison, assisting socio-economically disadvantaged families and engaging parents to take advantage of programs offered by the school. This involves working closely with various stakeholders including Principals, Teachers, and school admin staff, to ensure kids do well in school; this is a challenging yet rewarding work that I enjoy and find fulfilling. Previously, I worked in both public and private sector organizations, including research and policy analysis at a County government, and later doing program management at Weill Cornell Medical College, NY. My master’s in Public Administration (MPA) from American University, and past work experience will be great assets for managing and facilitating the board activities. WHAT DO I STAND FOR - CURRENT ISSUES? GIVE CHANGE A CHANCE FOR OUR HOA As we start the new year, I’m filled with immense gratitude for the opportunity to be part of Ruby Hill Community and participate in this election. Let me summarize my top priorities: • Create transparency around actions and decisions taken by the HOA board • Implement latest HOA and Community Management technology to improve communication between HOA and homeowners. • Address long-standing Safety and Security concerns • Further enhance the aesthetics and beauty of our community • Become YOUR voice by actively listening and engaging in discussions that will increase homeowner’s quality of life and sense of community • Provide fair opportunity to everyone interested and qualified to serve on the board MY REQUEST FOR YOU I would be honored to serve as an “independent” director on the Ruby Hill Board on your behalf. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (Q&A) ABOUT THIS 2024 RUBY HILL HOA BOARD ELECTION CLICK OR TAP ON THE QUESTION TO SEE THE ANSWERS * 1. How long have these incumbent board members been in the office? Most of them have been on the Board for more than 15 years. The incumbent board members have served well, but it is time to let the next generation serve our community. Please vote for me so we can have a new voice with fresh ideas! Having an independent and transparent board member is in the best interest of all homeowners. * 2. Will your homeowner dues increase if you elect a new and independent board member? No, absolutely not. With fresh ideas and newer tools & technology the new board can utilize the budget efficiently and get more done for our community. Smartphones, Tesla, Zoom, Amazon and Uber have improved our lives. Then, why does our board resist change? Our HOA and management company should have embraced new technology years ago. * 3. Like many other HOA, why doesn’t Ruby Hill have Term Limits? That's a GOOD question! Definitely something we should put up for a vote and let homeowners decide on it. Our Ruby Hill community has many energetic, highly qualified and competent homeowners who may be interested serving our community. They should be given a fair and equal opportunity to participate on the board. It cannot be a privilege of a few. * 4. Can you tell us about yourself and your background? I was born in India but spent my childhood in New York city area. After completing my undergraduate education at Union College in Schnectady, NY, I attended American University to receive a Masters degree in Public Administration (MPA). After getting married, we settled down in NYC close to my immediate family. In the 2016, we moved to Ruby Hill starting a new chapter in our lives. I was excited to meet new people and made friends fairly quickly in Ruby Hill. Our kids attended the PMS and Amador High School and enjoy playing tennis and golf in the community. My husband and I work with many charities around the globe to support early childhood education & nutrition programs and protection of human rights. * 5. Why do you want to be on the Ruby Hill board? I want be YOUR voice on the Board, implement new and fresh ideas and a build sense of community. I have many plans but can only work on them if I am elected to the Board. * 6. What do you mean by “Give Change a Chance”? By voting for me, homeowners are ‘giving a chance’ to a new, independent, and transparent member to serve on the Board, to work on your behalf, and to position our community for a better future. I'm a patient listener and a diligent worker passionate about bringing the community together and doing what is best for all the homeowners. Current directors have been on the HOA Board for over 15+ years, possibly even longer. I understand that sometimes change can seem scary but produce great results. Also, it does NOT mean an increase in homeowner dues. I can promise you that I will put in my genuine efforts to work with other board members to make our community the best in the Bay Area! * 7. Are you willing to work with the current board of directors? YES! I'm happy to work with current board members who for nearly two decades kept the board going and strictly enforced Ruby Hill HOA rules. While our Board has maintained things well, we can take this opportunity to explore new and innovative ideas by putting a new member on the board. * 8.
