Occupying the least amount of cells at the beginning of the game leaves you with
more options and your opponents fewer selections to make. Loud moves (moves that
flip many discs) allow many options to your opponent for the next move. This is
the secret of playing better Othello. In the early part of the game, avoid
flipping too many pieces. This will allow you to play an X square without losing
the corner. Try to control the diagonals at the endgame.

Moves that you can play but which your opponent cannot touch should be saved to
the very last. The darker dots on the board indicate this "danger zone". The
next rows in from the four edge rows, could be considered a "danger zone," since
a disc in these rows could be your opponent's bridge to a corner or an outside
edge position. The edge rows can always be used to outflank the inner rows.Īn

in order to take the other corner and the whole edge in between. The next most

however, be diminished by the opponent's maneuvering a solid defense in against
it. If your opponent places his piece in the spot that is directly adjacent and
diagonal to the corner and it's in the beginning or middle of the game, all you
need is for any piece in that diagonal line to be your color for you to jump
onto the corner. If you can't take a corner, you can reduce its effectiveness by

opening video package set up the biggest matches of the show. The Kickoff Panel
of Renee Young, Booker T and Sam Roberts did some final hype for the Roadblock
event. It protected both guys while also doing a finish that suggests the
rivalry will continue. It was pretty bad with Cass on offense the whole time,
Lana and Rusev outsmarting them and getting the countout win. If you’re only
getting five minutes and they put a break in there then it shows that maybe the
company doesn’t have faith in your match being good. Rusev back in the ring,
Cass was counted out and that’s it at 4:30.Īnalysis: 1/2* A short match that was
more of an angle than a match. Lana shoved Enzo, so Rusev punched Enzo in the
back of the head. Rusev went over the barricade, so Cass followed him. Rusev
bailed to the floor to avoid another attack. Cass was on offense the entire
match up to this point. Big Cass (w/Enzo Amore)Ĭass knocked Rusev out of the
ring and about one minute into the match they went to a commercial shilling WWE
