ABOUT

Joseph Sarafian, AIA

CEO | Co-Founder

Ron Culver, AIA

COO | Co-Founder

We explore novel design solutions by studying the forces in nature, listening to
the needs of our clients, and applying our own design expertise. We endeavor to
innovate and create new opportunities for design to impact society.

We believe that design research fuels innovative projects. Our award-winning
work has been published globally on platforms such as Dezeen, Architect's
Newspaper, and Business Insider and has lead to numerous keynote speaking
engagements on the role of new technology in architecture.

Joseph and Ron first met in UCLA's Master of Architecture and Urban Design
program, studying under Greg Lynn and Julia Koerner and soon after, built their
first commission together, the MARS Pavilion for Amazon CEO, Jeff Bezos. The
MARS Pavilion was a proof of concept for robotic construction using fabric as an
adjustable formwork. To understand the backstory of the MARS Pavilion, you can
read about it in Tolya Stonorov's book, FABRIC[ated].

About

PROCESS

We believe that design starts by asking questions.

1

DISCOVER

Through research and collaboration, we begin by asking questions, while bringing
our own inspiration and expertise to the table. Only after a deep understanding
of the site, can opportunities be identified.

2

DESIGN

We believe in an iterative design process. Only through testing ideas can a
solution be found. Our approach employs the latest software and hardware to
design and coordinate complex projects at all scales.

3

DELIVER

Coordinating the project among consultants, we produce detailed construction
documents to ensure the realization of our design intent. Our team will then
oversee the project through construction.
