Read More FEED OUR NEIGHBORS Banquet endeavors to make sure that no family faces food insecurity. It's a lofty goal, but we're working to make sure that food ends up on tables—not in landfills. Every rescue that we deliver provides roughly 25-42 meals for our neighbors. CUT CARBON EMISSIONS FOOD WASTE IS THE SINGLE MOST COMMON MATERIAL LANDFILLED AND INCINERATED IN THE US, PRODUCING INTENSE LEVELS OF METHANE AND CONTRIBUTING TO OUR NATION'S CLIMATE ISSUES. REDUCE FOOD WASTE WE AIM TO SLASH THE 119 BILLION POUNDS OF FOOD THAT GOES TO WASTE EVERY YEAR BY SHARING IT WITH OUR NEIGHBORS OR RESPONSIBLY DISPOSING OF IT IN COMPOSTING PLANTS OR ANAEROBIC FACILITIES. PROMOTE PARTNERSHIPS BANQUET FOCUSES ON THE DISTRIBUTION ISSUES BETWEEN FOOD RETAILERS AND NONPROFITS THAT SERVE FAMILIES FACING FOOD INSECURITY. OUR GOAL IS TO MAKE THEIR LIVES EASIER SO THAT THEY CAN ACCOMPLISH OUR COMMUNAL GOAL THAT NO FAMILY FACES HUNGER. > "It's not a supply issue; it's a distribution issue." Through Banquet's market research with food rescue organizations, the overwhelming consensus is that there’s plenty of food to go around, but nonprofits don’t have the network to appropriately gather and distribute the food. Our goal is to resolve this pain point so that workers and volunteers at these food organizations can focus on feeding our neighbors and not whether or not there will be enough to go around.
