CITY OF NEW BERLIN, TEXAS

The citizens of this small city welcome you to New Berlin, a city that cherishes
its German heritage and strives to keep those traditions alive along with those
of all immigrant descendants. While in New Berlin, enjoy the peaceful serenity
of this small, rural village. We have digital copies of all city ordinances,
meeting agendas, minutes and special items found in the Government tab on this
site. You may also acquire copies of these items by calling or visiting New
Berlin City Hall (830) 914-2455. Notices will continue to be published on the
bulletin board outside at City Hall and, when required, in the Seguin Gazette
newspaper. The city is governed by a mayor and five council members. The council
meets on the third Monday of each month at 6:30 PM at the City Hall.

THE CITY OF NEW BERLIN WILL BE HOLDING ITS GENERAL ELECTION ON NOVEMBER 5, 2024





The City of New Berlin will be holding its General Election on November 5, 2024
for the purpose of electing two Alderman and Mayor for a two-year term, November
2024 to November 2026.

La ciudad de New Berlin celebrará sus elecciones generales el 5 de noviembre de
2024 con el fin de elegir a dos concejales y alcaldes para un mandato de dos
años, de noviembre de 2024 a noviembre de 2026.

 

Any City of New Berlin resident desiring to have his or her name on the Official
Ballot shall file with the City Secretary an application in writing in the form
prescribed by the Texas Election Code declaring themselves a candidate.  The
filing date is no sooner than Saturday July, 20, 2024, and no later than August
19, 2024.  Complete applications will be accepted by the City Secretary’s Office
from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, July 20, 2024 – August 19,
2024 and Monday, August 19, 2023 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

 

Cualquier residente de la Ciudad de New Berlin que desee tener su nombre en la
Boleta Oficial deberá presentar ante el Secretario de la Ciudad una solicitud
por escrito en la forma prescrita por el Código Electoral de Texas declarándose
candidato. La fecha de presentación no es antes del sábado 20 de julio de 2024
ni después del 19 de agosto de 2024. La Oficina del Secretario de la Ciudad
aceptará solicitudes completas de 8:30 a. m. a 2:30 p. m., de lunes a jueves 20
de julio, 2024 – 19 de agosto de 2024 y lunes 19 de agosto de 2024 8:30 a. m. a
5:00 p. m.

 

Qualifications for candidacy include the following:  (Los requisitos para la
candidatura incluyen lo siguiente:)

 

 * Must be a qualified/registered voter in territory elected from by the filing
   deadline.
 * Must be 18 years of age.
 * Must be a resident (1 year in state prior to filing deadline; 6 months in
   city prior to filing deadline.

 

 * Debe ser un votante calificado/registrado en un territorio elegido antes de
   la fecha límite de presentación.
 * Debe tener 18 años de edad.
 * Debe ser residente (1 año en el estado antes de la fecha límite de
   presentación; 6 meses en la ciudad antes de la fecha límite de presentación).
