On todays RNN we talked with members of Student Council about upcoming events at HHS. While these events have not yet been canceled, depending on the nature of the COVID-19 virus there may be cancellations in the future. Some of our students created an informative TIK TOK to show you the proper way to wash your hands. It is important to use soap and warm water while scrubbing your hands for at least 20 seconds. Be sure to wash your hands often to protect against COVID-19. Reporter Isabella Cangiolosi set up a FaceTime call with Superintendent Dr. Rowe and HHS Principal Mr. Belin for some important updates from the district and high school. While we do not have clear information on prom, graduation, or other HHS events at this point, we will be sure to keep you updated as soon we receive news. Finally, we talk with Mr. Brown and some members of The Voice as well as Travel Club for some updates on IHSA competitions and upcoming trips. We all have heard, seen and experienced the impacts of the recent food shortages. But many of us don’t know how this issue came about, or what is to be done about it. With China now facing its worst outbreak in two years as the country reports more than 2,000 new COVID cases daily, prepare for the potential of supply chains being disrupted more than they already are. Last spring, student council hosted a senior soiree in place of prom due to COVID-19 restrictions. This year, however, prom is back! RNN reporter Jasmine Thompson is here to tell us more. As the first week of Women’s History Month comes to a close, we have a very special interview from one of HHS’s female leaders to share more about how women have paved their way into history. With the recent ending of the football season and the Rams winning the superbowl, baseball season is right around the corner… well hopefully, since MLB is in a lockout now. Let's turn it to Andrew Spaid to tell us more. Though it sounds like the MLB is a mess, Huntley baseball just finished tryouts this week. The team is currently ranked 3 in the state. Here’s to a great season! Since the introduction of new technologies into education, a lot has evolved. There was a very recent announcement that the SAT will be one of these aspects to change. Even though some schools are not requiring the test for admittance, the scores can still be used as scholarships. Make sure to keep studying because the SAT is right around the corner! Speaking of the SAT, this weekend, there is “MSAT”. The MSAT --created by the MSCHF collective, the company that worked with rapper Lil Nas X’s to produce the infamous “Satan Shoes”-- will be mocking the SAT test and actually encourages you to cheat.
