About



Natalia Broude (Natasha) is a watercolor artist who realized her attraction to
visual art early in her childhood. However, she dedicated her career not to art
but to science. She graduated from the Chemistry Department of the Moscow State
University and later earned her Ph.D. and D. Sci grades in Chemistry and
Molecular Biology. After emigrating from Russia to the United States in 1991,
she worked at Boston University for more than 25 years.

After retiring from BU in 2017, Natasha delved deeply into her lifelong affinity
with fine arts, focusing on watercolor painting and taking advantage of all the
possibilities offered by contemporary methods of professional development. She
participated in workshops with renowned masters of watercolor such as Joseph
Zbukvic, Herman Pekel, and Boston-based artist Gary Tucker. Natasha’s favorite
subject is landscape. She expresses all the variations of light and shadow using
the unique palette, texture, and transparency of the watercolor medium. This
exhibition is the most representative of Natasha’s recent works, containing
watercolor paintings as well as graphite and charcoal drawings.
