1856-1858年間由日本浮世繪師「歌川廣重」所繪的名作「名所江戶百景」之「比丘尼橋雪中」，描繪江戶時代靜靜下著雪的街景裡，畫中左方店家招牌大大寫著「山くじら(山鯨)」。
山くじら 山鯨，為何山上會出現鯨魚？
原來古代日本曾頒布「肉食禁令」，禁止一般人民食肉，直至明治維新後才逐漸開放。因此江戶時代，民間就以「山鯨」為代號，指的是滋味美好的野豬肉。
