These accomplished individuals have played a major role in guiding their companies to solid foundations and continuous growth by leveraging their strategic financial capabilities. It wasn’t until the 1960s that the arrival of the Chief Financial Officer even existed. In the 1980s, Melvin Howard, the previous CFO of Xerox said that “the overwhelming impact of inflation would mean that Chief Financial Officers will play a far larger part than in the past in the overall decision-making process of their companies”. These awardees are heavily involved in their company's decision making processes and are critical to the overall success of the companies and organizations they lead.
