Course Description:

Awareness and understanding as it relates to nutrition are important in
providing quality care. The MDS 3.0. 1.18.11 has expanded questions on race and
ethnicity, providing an opportunity to discuss food choices. This session will
discuss the changes to section K, person-centered care plans, coding tips, and
the importance of section K in determining reimbursement and QRP measures.

Targeted Audience:

Licensed Staff

Objectives

Upon completion of this presentation, participants should be able to:

1. Review the updates to section K of the MDS.
2. Discuss the correlation between food choices and culturally competent care
3. Examine the link between Section K and the quality reporting program.
