USES OF 3D PRINTING

So why use 3D printing?

The use of 3D printing goes back to as early as the 80’s where Dr. Kodama, a
Japanese inventor, paved the way for 3D printing technologies. The three main
types of 3D printing technologies are Stereolithography (SLA), Selective Laser
Sintering (SLS), and Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) - the most commonly used 3D
printing technology.

3D printing has become mainstream and has been largely incorporated into a
number of diverse industries. From the aerospace industry to the fashion
industry, 3D printing is making its mark. Prototyping has been one of the most
known uses of 3D printing by utilizing 3D models to test tangible ideas and
concepts. This has been a great cost-friendly learning tool. The education
industry, for example, is able to teach more effectively with 3D printing
models, allowing better visualization and practicality.
