All of this just so they can keep the setup they love. These DJs also never
upgrade from the old software Serato Scratch Live. There are DJs who still buy,
fix, and refurbish older Apple MacBooks in order to use the Rane SL1 and TTM
57SL.

The TTM 57SL mixer was so revered, that to this day, some DJs don’t want to move
on to new gear. The game was forever changed with this singular piece of DJ
gear. This amazing mixer eliminated the need for the external Rane SL1 Serato
box, combining all the routing and connections into one mixer solution. The
mixer to have was the USA-made Rane TTM 57SL. It handled the in-and-out routing
of analog turntables time code to the computer and returned the music out to an
analog mixer. Let’s back up a bit: When digital DJing started to became the
norm, most DJs who were serious about their craft got a hold of the Rane SL1
box. That’s a very disappointing thing to find out, and it has happened in waves
throughout DJ industry history. Someone please pull a rabbit out of a hat and
provide me with a magical answer :) Thanks for any help provided.There’s a
chance your favorite hardware is not going to work anymore. Again any assistance
is greatly appreciated, Thank you, I am now completely lost as to what else i
can try to get the lateast version of VirtualDJ and Serato ScratchLive to work
together. There must be a solution for this problem atleast i hope so and that
it is not unique to me. I would really like to have both VDJ and Scratchlive
work on their latest versions with my SL1. I dont know if this is going to be an
issue. Also i think i had to select serato new engine for the timecodes for it
to work. and from here i think i got VDJ to work, however im pretty sure
ScratchLive isnt going to work anymore. after doing this i go back to virtual dj
and ONLY NOW can i select more options from the SOUNDCARD: ASIO Driver option I
now have Creative ASIO, SL1 Driver, MP 4 Driver and TTM 57SL Driver.

in the drop down menu for SOUNDCARD all i see and can select is Creative ASIO
SOUNDCARD: ASIO Driver: Creative ASIO Ultra Latency checked So i found an old
exe of ScratchLive_1.9.2 and i install the ASIO drivers only. I did not see the
SL1( assuming its suppose to be named SL1 or something like that) When i go to
virtual dj setup i use the following selections INPUTS: TimeCodes - Chan 1&2
Deck 1 / Chan 3&4 Deck 2 OUTPUTS: External Mixer - Deck 1 chan 1&2 / Deck 2
chant 3&4 ****here is where it gets weird. I right clicked on the speaker icon
on the taskbar in windows 7, clicked on playback devices and my internal
soundcard was selected and was already default.

came to a shove, I would prefer to pay $2300 towards a new OEM “short block”
than have a garage rebuild an engine for me, frankly I cannot see how they coudl
do it, given todays costs… unless they take shortcuts and put new rings on an
old bore which is probably worse than you have now.įirst on a cold engine, Check
the oil level is correct, not over nor under. If you had an older engine, say
200Kmls I might suggest that, but given the year and mileage, I’ll not on this
occasion. However I am given to believe adding ATF to the oil will expand the
rubber of the seals. I reduced the oil consumption on my Camry by switching to
full Synthetic oil. So it you can put up with the plume of smoke on startup… and
it is giving no other problem, just keep adding oil. You get a kit to hold
compressed air in the cyl and keep the valves pushed out while changing the
seals and you can change the belts at teh same time.ġ2, 16, etc heads are a lot
of work, either on or off the car. If a single cam, 8 valve, AND a belt driven
cam (I assume it is an OHC engine and ot a side cam) then it is possible not
much of a challenge, and is possible with great care to remove the Cam, springs
and exchange the seals WITHOUT dropping a valve. and how many cams and valves,
eg, single Cam, 8 valve. I do not mean splatter a few drops, but blows it out.
Remove the oil cap or dipstick and see if it “blows” gas and oil out the hole. A
compression check woudl immediately let you knw if you have a bore & ring
problem, and I suspect you do not have a bore problem.Įasy check. If all that is
gone are the stem seals, there there is no need to change the rings and all that
other jazz. Valve stem seals seem to have been a source of leakage on a few
Toyotas I have encountered, including my own 6cyl.
