She always answers my calls with a calming voice and a patient demeanor. It seems nothing rattles her and nothing is beyond her scope. In fact, unbeknownst to me, I was in the midst of a medical crisis when I called her for advice. I had already gone to urgent care and had no idea that I needed lifesaving emergency surgery, but Dr. Nabavi figured it out within a few short minutes over the phone. GREEN DOT's pricing and plans are designed with you and your family in mind. Most families need acute care services on average 4-6 times per year. We are a concierge acute care service that is priced so that you are paying only for what you need. To sign up for a primary concierge doctor alone, the average price is $2200/year/person. This is simply too expensive for most families. We instead offer limited visits per year to offset the cost of having a doctor available to you and your family 24/7/365. You can pay for additional visits on an ad hoc basis for $125/visit. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What's included in the GREEN DOT care package? The GREEN DOT care package includes essential tools to help your GREEN DOT doctor assess your condition remotely. Absolutely! Primary care physicians and emergency physicians have different training and expertise. It is akin to going to your estate lawyer and asking them to defend you in a criminal trial or asking your roofer to fix your foundation problem, etc. Your primary care doctor is the ‘quarterback’ of your healthcare team managing chronic diseases and preventive care (ie vaccinations, screening mammogram, colonoscopy, etc). As emergency physicians, we specialize in taking care of you when a health issue arises suddenly and needs attention as soon as possible. Most primary care doctors' offices are so busy that they cannot accommodate last-minute visits and often require an in-person visit for a complete evaluation. Sometimes, a primary care doctor will even refer you to the emergency department when you are not having an emergency. This is because primary care and emergency physicians have different training and expertise. If you have a condition that requires an in-person examination, we will direct you to the appropriate level of care as well. For example, you may be directed to a hospital that is perhaps farther from you but has the specialized services you need, like burn care or on-call subspecialists. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Will you communicate with my other doctors? Absolutely. It is important to us that your entire healthcare team is kept in the loop. For this reason, at our first consultation, we will obtain the names, phone numbers and, ideally, emails of your other physicians so that we can forward or fax a copy of your visits for continuity of care. We also provide them with a direct number to us if they have questions or concerns. We love talking to other doctors! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What if I don’t like taking medicine? We don’t like taking medicine either - who does? When we think of medicine, we put them into two categories: treatment of underlying conditions or symptoms. There is certainly value in taking medicine to cure your ailment, and there is also value in taking medicine to alleviate your suffering. For example, there is no cure for a viral cold. Things that have been proven to shorten the duration of a cold include zinc and honey. Some medicines will give you short-term relief from congestion, cough and discomfort, too, so you can be functional until the viral illness passes. It’s up to you if you want to take them. A bacterial infection, on the other hand, requires antibiotics to heal. It depends on your other medication. For non controlled substances for the most part, yes.
