A recent study by Income Insurance and SMU's Centre for Research on Successful
Ageing (ROSA) has revealed that unemployed individuals and those with lower
education levels exhibit the lowest levels of resilience across mental,
physical, social, and financial aspects. Furthermore, the study found that
single individuals are less financially and socially resilient compared to their
married counterparts.
Professor Paulin Tay Straughan, the Director of ROSA, suggests that this could
be attributed to the fact that married Singaporeans often come from dual-income
households and have access to support from both their spouse and extended
