We are thrilled the National Gallery of Victoria have acquired three important
paintings by Ross Watson
Masked Formality (Dale Knight) 1987
Set V, (Ian Roberts) 1995
Time (after Vouet 1645; James) 2020
A celebrated and leading art museum which possesses the largest and most
significant collection of classical art in the Southern Hemisphere, the National
Gallery of Victoria is located in Watson’s home city of Melbourne. Its
extraordinary collection continues as a valuable source of inspiration for the
artist forty years on.

LATEST PAINTING SERIES
TRAVALOGUE
The below artworks are the first in a new series entitled TRAVELOGUE. Each
painting is exploring the theme of travel and the captivating and unique
experiences that occur while visiting foreign countries. Travel is a subject
that has informed periods of Watson's art throughout his forty year career.
With an extensively catalogued reference library of photography taken by the
artist himself, we can expect to be transported into wonderful dreamscapes
spanning the globe. First stop - Greece.
