We are building our own test plugins and working with our third party developers
to make sure these new pathways have been tested experimentally.Ī major focus of
the private alpha is to make sure that these changes will work with third party
add-ons the way we expect, so we’ve prioritized getting the changes into the
alphas early so our third party developers can try them.In X-Plane 11, the first
plugin to run CEF would ‘own’ it this new setup allows X-Plane and all plugins
to share CEF and should make it easier for plugins that need to access web pages
to do so. In X-Plane 12 we run Chromium Embedded Framework (CEF) at startup.We
are making the FMOD API available to plugins (in a few different ways) so that
plugins that generate sound can interact with the full 3-d sound
environment.Plugins that use OpenAL in X-Plane 12 will need to package OpenAL
themselves. X-Plane itself hasn’t used OpenAL in years, and we are in no
position to support it. The X-Plane SDK supports the new ARM M1 Macs.With the
new major version we are making some changes to the plugin environment:

FSR lets us render the world faster and then scale the result up to 4K – it’s a
great option for users who want to fly in 4K but keep their framerates up. We

implemented water masking, so that orthophoto scenery can cut out the 3D water

pilots during alpha testing to dial in seaplane behavior.Ī new feature in a
simulator can create new bugs that need to be fixed – this is why we invited our

the right amount to train for instrument approaches. Low visibility daytime
conditions in X-Plane 12 are naturally darker than sunny days, but also still
lighter than night time flying. The new lighting engine also requires us to take
a new approach to low visibility flying conditions. The intensities of these
lights are calibrated using spec sheets from the FAA. approach lights, runway
edge lights, PAPIs, etc.). We are finishing up a very careful pass over a wide
variety of light sources – urban lights, street lights, and most importantly
light sources that affect pilots (e.g. This includes updates to how we do night
lighting and artificial light sources. X-Plane 12’s lighting engine is
completely photometric and runs in true HDR at all times.

on. To maintain a similar challenge throughout expansions. Your gear, trinkets,
and stats matter, but all your equipment is scaled down to a maximum item level

So I recommend going with Onyx and staying away from Deeper. The download link &
your registration code will be. I've never had any issues with it as a
maintenance tool, but as for Deeper, if they are equally good it's not enough
for me to feel right giving high ratings for both. Color Pilot for Mac offers a
new unique color correction method like seen on the other picture. I just think
that both purposes should not be included in the same app which is going beyond
the scope of my comment. Koingo Software has announced the release of Mac Pilot
3, a new version of its customization software for Mac OS X. I know other
similar apps like to do both things as well, but they do a better job at
separating maintenance stuff and hidden features stuff. But for my own use, it's
always been for maintenance purposes and when it comes to using an app that does
"reveals hidden features of the OS", I totally think of different types of apps
as that is something different all together. In my opinion, Onyx is more of a
maintenance app, however it does several other nice things as well. Koingo
Softwares MacPilot (20, shareware) offers hundreds of different options. I am
just feeling confused on this app on many levels. update an existing clone
without having to a create a new backup entirely. Before anyone says it, there
is currently an application called Secrets that many Mac users swear by.
Anything you’ve wanted to tweak on your Mac, uncover, or otherwise harness
control of can now done through this single, feature rich utility. Who doesn't
love free apps especially when theyre solid and good at what they do, so please
don't get me wrong on that point. One of their latest products, MacPilot 4, is
absolutely mind boggling. Just to name a few things, why is it given high
ratings, why does it even exist (it would make sense if it was called something
like Onyx Lite for example), why are both apps free. That being said, if it is
really just a light version of Onyx, I cannot honestly know where to begin what
to question about it. To be fair, however, I didn't give it much attention and
time to check it out further than I did, so I might be wrong in my opinion of
this app. Already being a user of the Onyx app for a few years, I was also
surprised simply for not being aware of this app.Īfter checking the tabs and the
various features it showed, I quickly uninstalled it, since it pretty much
seemed like Onyx but lighter maybe, or rather the same thing but not as many
features that Onyx does. Shortly after to my surprise, I saw how much it looked
nearly exactly like Onyx - my fault for not paying attention to the developer of
the app. Although from this site, there aren't too many others that it compares
to, being that it was free made it the top choice to try out. The web app no
longer requires installation and will eventually replace the desktop app in
2023.I downloaded this app based on its reviews and the date of its last
release, which compared to the other apps in the same category, seemed like one
of the best ones.

In addition, our team is already working on version 6, which is web-based. You
don’t have to go through this process again for our monthly updates.
