The York House School community challenged each other to think more deeply, imagine more expansively, ponder the possible, and identify the necessary. Through a process of collaboration, critical thinking and creativity, we developed a roadmap to the future that will ensure our students continue to thrive, not only in their professional pursuits, but in their lives. Spark is that plan. The strength of York House is the community we’ve built and cherished for 92 years. This feisty school has been the educational home for exceptional young women who have gone on to extraordinary success and who have made significant contributions to the betterment of our society. Above all, they are happy human beings who maintain close ties with their school and each other. We’ve relied on that brilliance from alum to current students, parents past and present, faculty, staff and leadership, and a committed Board of Governors who have guided this process from start to finish. That is why we are so confident in the direction and substance of Spark. “York House has transformed me. I’m inspired by the talent, challenged by the program, and embraced by the warmth of this community. I’m excited that YHS is planning for a stronger future and thinking about students’ needs as they evolve. Everything is changing all the time and it’s important that our school continues to grow.” Emily, Grade 11 With respect, we acknowledge that the land on which we learn, play, and work is the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the territories of the xwməѲkwəyəm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səlílwəta/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
