From making coal cleaner to finding new uses for solar power, Pitt’s Center for
Energy carries on Western Pennsylvania’s legacy of innovative thinking about
energy.

David Waldeck (chemistry) explains how his research on solar cells using
nanotechnology may make solar cells more widely accessible someday. 

Brian Gleeson (mechanical engineering and materials science), Director of the
Center for Energy, explains what makes Pitt's Center for Energy unique, and what
it contributes to the region.  

Gregory Reed (electrical and computer engineering) talks about Pitt's research
on smart grid technologies and our partnerships with industry leaders such as
Eaton Corporation, Westinghouse Electric Company, and CONSOL Energy.
