Donald Trump's presidential campaign in the build-up to the 2024 presidential election has been an ongoing topic of speculation — but some are certain that he will withdraw soon. Scott Galloway, a podcast host and professor at New York University, has made a bold prediction that Trump wouldn't end up running for president. Galloway shared his prediction during an episode of the Pivot podcast on July 14 with co-host Kara Swisher. When she asked him for his prediction, he claimed that former New Jersey governor and GOP presidential candidate Chris Christie had also expressed a similar sentiment. Galloway went on to suggest that Trump could be living under the constant threat of prison. He claimed that the Department of Justice, or "whoever is in charge," would likely view Trump's situation as "bad for America" and offer him a plea deal with no jail time. Trump is currently facing numerous legal hurdles. In April, he pleaded not guilty to charges brought by the Manhattan District Attorney's Office. These charges were related to alleged hush money payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels. As a result, Trump will appear in court again in March 2024. In June, Trump was indicted on 37 federal counts, including willful retention of national defense information, conspiracy to obstruct justice, and false statements. It surrounds his mishandling of records at Mar-a-Lago and his efforts to block the government from retrieving them. Additionally, in a recent post to Truth Social, Trump claims that he has been informed by Special Counsel Jack Smith that he is a "target" of a criminal investigation. These cases come in the wake of Trump's expensive lawsuit loss against E. Carroll Jean. Jean accused Trump of raping her in a New York City department store changing room in 1996. While the jury found the proof for this accusation to be inadequate, they found Trump guilty of sexual assault and battery and awarded Jean $5 million in damages. Despite the odium caused by these lawsuits, the criminal indictments in New York and Florida have not hurt Trump's support among Republican primary voters. Former President Trump remains the front-runner in the race for the Republican presidential nomination despite multiple indictments and a significant number of Republicans who view him unfavorably. Anti-Trump Republicans have yet to coalesce around an alternative candidate — who was originally thought to be Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. Not everybody shares the pro-DeSantis sentiment and just last week Republican mega-donor Ken Griffin’s camp indicated doubt in DeSantis's ability to knock Trump out of the apex Republican position, and that he was on the market for a new candidate to support. As recently reported by Knewz.com, several groups have taken an active approach to opposing Trump's candidacy and have begun spending money to weaken his support. Despite the doubt and dissent within the Republican ranks, Trump still leads the pack. In a poll by the Independent released on June 10, DeSantis, who is still the second most popular contender among Republicans, is trailing Trump by 20 percentage points. VIDEO FROM FOURTH OF JULY, COCAINE FOUND JULY 2 It's not entirely clear what is happening in the video, but the timeline claimed in the post is wrong. The footage was captured on the Fourth of July while the Bidens watched fireworks on the White House balcony. That was two days after cocaine was found in the White House's West Wing lobby, an area accessible to some members of the public. Some social media users have speculated Hunter Biden, who has acknowledged past struggles with drug use and addiction, could be responsible for the cocaine found in the White House. The Secret Service did not name any suspects when the investigation of the incident ended due to a lack of adequate physical evidence.
