BITS for BILLIONS is an initiative that grew from a personal interest in giving
back; the shared belief that education—both formal and informal—provides a
mechanism for lifting oneself out of poverty.

We also have the conviction that technology can be a powerful educational tool,
especially in remote rural areas..

The Late Herbert Doonan’s (aka Herb or Bert) journey as founder of BITS for
BILLIONS supported a bit of this—the construction of housing and school
repairs—and a bit of that—basic needs such as school and medical fees

This Vision is now being realized thrugh the creation of a Sports Complex, A
digital library and Scholaship and mentorship Programmes. The project is based
in Ugunja Subcounty, Siaya County. Kenya., Welcone to our Website.

Welcome to BITS for BILLIONS Community Development INITIATIVE. My name is George
Oduor and I am the director. This org. was founded in 2010 by an American
philanthropist by the name Herb Doonon together with myself as his assistant

It was started out of our founder’s conviction that education and technology
were the best solution to the challenges the youth were facing in our community.
We invite you to watch and see how we can partner together to improve our
services to the commuity.

SWIMMING POOL PROJECT

This project is meant to serve over seven schools with a population of over 3500
children within our community under the current CBC education program. Swimming
lessons which is part of the curriculum requires learners to practically swim as
part of learning the subject. Unfortunate there is no any swimming pool for
children within the wider community.
At the same time it is part of our sports program since it is a talent to be
nurtured. This therefore makes it is our priority to construct swimming pool
that could help nurture talents of the children who would like to pursue
swimming as a future career. We would therefore wish to appeal to well-wishers
to sponsor us in order to undertake this project.
