DUTCH SPOT HARGEISA


Dutch Spot Hargeisa is a local nonprofit organizations that focuses on
community, culture and business. This development organization has been
initiated by the Dutch Somaliland community in Somaliland. Furthermore, Dutch
Spot Hargeisa is a new hub, which offers decorated private offices,
co-working space, meeting rooms and fast Internet.

COMMUNITY

Dutch Spot Hargeisa is an NGO that is registered in Hargeisa, Somaliland. One of
its core focus areas is to connect the Dutch community (midnimo) “Making the
Dutch Community visible”.



Other focus areas also include Dutch community development
in the diaspora and Somaliland, connecting businesses
and communities, and creating and promoting viable economic,
social and cultural activities.

CULTURE

One of our biggest focuses is culture. This is because today, the world is fast
becoming a global village, with many countries enjoying a multicultural
environment. Furthermore, there are lot of similarities between the Dutch and
The Somalis.

Both nations are known for tolerance, trade, literature and art. But also it is
also very important to look how the Netherlands recovered
from wars, water issues and famines over the centuries and perhaps we can review
the lesson learned and the interventions, and showcase this in the Somali
context.

It is also very important for us, as Dutch-Somalis to bring the Somali culture
and traditions to the Netherlands.

Dutch Spot Hargeisa will offer a valuable mix of low-cost office space,
networking opportunities and business advice to support entrepreneurs in
general, and Diaspora start-ups in particular.



One of the primary goals for Dutch Spot Hargeisa is to be a centre that connects
and links individuals, businesses and institutions alike whether they reside
here in Somaliland or in the Netherlands.
