WELCOME!

WE ARE A SMALL COMMUNITY LIBRARY NESTLED BETWEEN THE NORH GORHAM FIRE STATION
AND THE UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST AT NORTH GORHAM. YOU MIGHT SAY WE ARE AT THE
HEART OF OUR COMMUNITY, WHICH INCLUDES OUR NEIGHBORS IN THE TOWN OF STANDISH.

Great books, but so much more. A weekly Story Hour, for instance, and a monthly
book club. And some free passes! Click on the picture to see what else we offer.

HOW DO I JOIN?

Just come in and sign up for a library card. There is no fee, even if you don't
live in Gorham or Standish. Click on the picture to get answers to more
questions.

MARCH BOOK CLUB

For March, the Book Club is reading Mrs. Sinclair’s Suitcase by Louise Walters.
The group will meet in the library on Monday morning, March 25 from 11 to 12. A
heartbreaking and deeply compelling debut, Mrs. Sinclair’s Suitcase is a
compulsive page-turner about thwarted love, dashed hopes, and family secrets.

STORY HOUR/FARM ANIMALS

Farm animals galore for this week's Story Hour. Two stories and lots of playing
and singing, including Farmer in the Dell, of course! Wednesday March 20 from
10:30 to 11:30.

STORY HOUR/GLAD MONSTER, SAD MONSTER

For this week's Story Hour, Paula will read Glad Monster, Sad Monster by Ed
Emberley and Anne Miranda. Wednesday, March 13 from 10:30 to 11:30.

YARN SWAP

The yarn you don't want could be another knitter's inspiration! Be sure to check
out our Yarn Swap next time you're in the library.

PAULA’S PAINTINGS

Paula Boyce, who leads our weekly Story Hour, is a woman of many talents. She is
helping us usher in spring with a display of her beautiful artwork.

STORY HOUR/ONE FISH, TWO FISH

Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss! For story hour this week. Paula is going to read One
Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. Wednesday, March 6 from 10:30 to 11:30

PATRON FOR 30 YEARS

I appreciate the friendliness of the entire staff, their willingness to be
flexible, their enthusiam, their communication skills, the promptness of
retrieving books I order, and the wide variety of library selections. I LOVE the
North Gorham Library.

NEW RESIDENT

I'm a new resident of North Gorham and have been so delighted to find this
special little library. The librarians have been so friendly and given me tips
about books, local hikes, and history of the area. I can't wait to get more
involved with the library and the community.

PATRON FOR 21 YEARS

Our family has been using NGPL for 21 years, since we moved to Standish. I have
loved the convenience, the local community feel, and the incredible selection.

PATRON FOR 10 YEARS +

Thanks to the Windham library I was introduced to the North Gorham library,
which is near my home. I have enjoyed the bookclub and some volunteering there
for over 10 years. it is a very warm and welcoming place with a great selection
of books.

COMING SINCE CHILDHOOD

My grandmother, Josephine Scholl, was a contributor to the library for years.
She thought it was important that children have access to books. I also brought
my son here when he was a child. The library has a great selection of books for
all ages, and each time I go in there seems to be a neighbor there to say hi to.

We are so fortunate to have the most helpful and nicest librarians at a library
so conveniently located to us. We appreciate you and thank you!
