Wickham Night at the Ballpark!!



Wickham Night at the Ballpark will be on Saturday, May 18th, 2024. Game time is
6:35 PM and doors open at 5:30 PM. Please join us for Wickham Elementary night
at the Cedar Rapids Kernels! Kernels will be taking on the Quad City River
Bandits and game tickets are just $12. For every ticket sold $2 will go back to
Wickham Elementary PTO. The game will be followed by an amazing firework show!!



3 ways to order your tickets through the Kernels:
1. Order Tickets Online:
2: Call the Kernels Ticket Office at (319) 896-7560 and purchase your tickets
with a credit card.
4. Mail the ticket order form you received in your child's backpack and payment
to the Kernels by SATURDAY, May 11th:

**Please select Section 102 when ordering tickets online or over the phone. This
is where all of the Wickham Families will be sitting!

Tickets are available online and by phone until May 17th. Tickets will be full
price ($16.00 each) on the day of
the game. Kids 3 and under are free if they sit on a parent’s lap! NO REFUNDS OR
EXCHANGES.



Pre-Game Activities
We are looking for at least 12 students to help with pre-game activities at our
night at the ballpark event. If your child wishes to participate please click
below. You will be getting a confirmation email closer to the event with further
details and your child's assigned activity.

School Supply Boxes are on Sale NOW!

School supply boxes for the 2024-2025 school year are now on sale. The deadline
to order your teacher-approved boxes is June 2nd, 2024. 

Please below to order. Enter Wickham Elementary's code: WIC017 - note that's a
zero. 

Supply boxes will be placed on students' desks at back-to-school night.

RESERVE THE CELEBRATION HERKY



Wickham Elementary has a large Herky dressed up like a wizard prominently
displayed near the entry of our school. In years past we offered families the
option to rent Herky for a day to display a message of celebration (birthday,
half birthday, sporting event, holiday, etc.) for your student. We ask for a $10
donation for each day that you reserve to serve as a fundraiser for PTO.

We are excited to bring back this fun tradition with a few procedure changes
that ensure we are following Iowa City Community Schools COVID policy.

Volunteers Needed for continued support throughout the year

 

 

 

Wickham PTO is looking for parents/guardians willing to assist with a few more
events throughout the year!

 * Teacher Appreciation Coordinator- NEED VOLUNTEER

 * Bingo/Taco Night Coordinators- NEED VOLUNTEERS (2 MORE)

 * End of Year Picnic Chairs- NEED VOLUNTEERS (3)

Please click here to view open volunteer opportunities. The PTO Executive Board
will provide direction, funding, historical information, marketing, and
volunteer support for all events. You will not be left to figure it out all by
yourself! Without volunteer support, we will not be able to offer these events.
Please consider volunteering.


THE WIZARD DONATION DRIVE

In lieu of the PTO asking students to participate in sales fundraisers (i.e. -
selling wrapping paper, fruit, etc.), Wickham families elect to hold an annual
donation drive. This fundraiser is called the Wizard Donation Drive.

 

Each year, based on the planned costs of enrichment activities for the coming
year, the Executive Board provides a suggested amount for each family.

 

The suggested annual Donation Amount is: $75.00 (1st student) + $25.00 (per each
additional student).



Why the suggested amount?  By each family donating the suggested amount (or
more), the Wickham PTO can fully fund all programming and achieve our goal of
enriching the lives of ALL of our students, staff, and families. 



Families may contribute via cash or check (made payable to Wickham PTO) and drop
off at the Wickham Elementary Main Office or via our easy online donation form
(see blue button to the right).  Keep in mind that donation/contributions made
to the PTO are tax-deductible. Although a suggested amount is provided, please
know that any amount donated is greatly appreciated.

 

IMPORTANT NOTE - PLEASE READ:

The Textbook and Planner Fees (paid to the District via Powerschool) are NOT
contributions to the PTO and are not part of the Wizard Donation Drive or any
other PTO Fundraising activity.  Any donations made to the PTO are separate from
Fees owed to the District.

Start saving your Hy-Vee receipts to earn money for Wickham! We will be
collecting these receipts all year. Please send receipts in with your child
