SECURITY CAMERA REBATE

The Montgomery County Department of Police is committed to working in
partnership with the community and has launched a Police-Private Security Camera
Incentive Program with the purpose of deterring and solving crime by
incentivizing the installation of security cameras in geographic areas
experiencing relatively high incidents of crime. Beginning November 15, 2023, an
owner or tenant of a property that is used as a residence, business, or
nonprofit organization located within an eligible priority area may apply. For
additional information and to apply visit

The Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection and our partners
challenge you to reduce waste by thinking differently about how you shop for and

WINTER REGISTRATION

Winter registration for Montgomery County Recreation and Montgomery Parks
classes and programs is now underway. Register at Active Montgomery.


FREE COVID-19 RAPID TEST KITS

Every U.S. household can place an order to receive four free COVID-⁠19 rapid
tests delivered directly to their home from the U.S. Government. A simple
application to receive the tests is available COVIDTests.gov.


FAST TRACK PERMITS



Montgomery County Department of Permitting Services has improved its
“Residential Fast Track” program and its “Apply Online” portal creating changes
that could lead to permits on some eligible projects being approved in days
instead of weeks. Read the news release for details.

Save the date! The Department of Permitting Services is hosting a Stakeholders
Forum on Wednesday, Dec. 6, for architects, builders, contractors, designers,
engineers, permit expediters and other professionals. The meeting is scheduled
from 9 a.m. to noon at 2425 Reedie Drive, 2nd floor auditorium, in Wheaton.

Residents Should:

 * Note the information on the posted signs.
 * Rake leaves to the road edge (see picture) or place leaves in paper yard
   waste bags.
 * Leaves placed in plastic bags will not be collected.
 * Keep parked vehicles away from leaf piles.

Residents Should Not:

 * Place leaf piles in the street (see picture).
 * Place sticks or other debris in the leaves.
 * Place leaves in plastic bags -- Leaves placed in plastic bags will not be
   collected.
 * Block access to leaf piles by parking cars on or in front of leaf piles.
