OPENAI CHATGPT AUGUST UPDATE INTRODUCES SIX NEW FEATURES



OpenAI has officially started rolling out the August update to ChatGPT, and the
latest update brings major feature changes. Now users can upload files to
ChatGPT, get suggested prompts, and receive replies, among other features. The
update also makes the interface more interactive and expands its functionality.
Additionally, the company has fixed UI issues reported on the OpenAI Forums and
acknowledged security issues.

This new update enhances the user experience and makes it more productive. As we
have seen, OpenAI is constantly pushing to make ChatGPT more accessible and
expand its audience. To this end, the company has also launched ChatGPT on
Android and iOS devices, which users can download from the Google Play Store and
Apple’s App Store.

like a small leap, but small steps count the most. The update aims to optimise

OPENAI AUGUST UPDATE

OpenAI has introduced several new upgrades to ChatGPT, including suggested
replies, keyboard shortcuts, and longer login durations. There are six new
features in the August update to the cutting-edge language model ChatGPT. The
company has started rolling out the update in phases and is expected to roll it
out to everyone by next week.

Last month, OpenAI released several new features, including Custom Instructions,
where you can set your preferences, and ChatGPT will remember them for new
sessions. Code Interpreters allow users to upload files to analyse data, create
characters, edit files, do complex math, and more. Also, the message limit has
been expanded. This is the first update of this month, and here is a quick look
at ChatGPT’s August update.


SUPPORT MULTIPLE-UPLOAD FILES

If you have been constantly using ChatGPT and consider yourself a power user,
you can now upload files. Users can now upload multiple files simultaneously,
which was impossible on OpenAI. This feature will be useful as it allows for
synthesising insights across various datasets.



Previously, uploading files was only possible with the Code Interpreter Beta to
analyse complex codebases. To enable the Code Interpreter, you need to enable it
from the Beta that appears in the Settings. Once enabled, you need to choose the
Code Interpreter to start uploading files and analyse and extract insights.

After enabling this, users can upload ten files at once. The files can be
explored with Semrush keywords and analysed through the ChatGPT Code
Interpreter. Many marketing teams have used this method for in-depth analysis
and data extraction.


PROMPT SUGGESTION



When the new chat session begins with the suggested prompt screen, it will
inspire users to start creatively with the suggested examples designed to make
starting a new chat less intimidating. As users start a ChatGPT session with a
blank screen, it leads to difficulty starting, but with the prompt examples,
users will get a quick start towards more engaging conversations.


SUGGESTED REPLIES





To make the response cleaner and have a higher-quality conversation, we have a
new element called Suggested Replies that seeks to enrich the dialogue by
offering pertinent options for follow-up discussions. Suggested replies will
help users explore the topic in depth with a single click, making the engagement
more interactive with the updated AI model that is more dynamic and versatile.


GPT-4 AS THE DEFAULT AI MODEL IN CHATGPT



OpenAI’s GPT has reached the performance level of GPT-4. The latest model of
GPT-4 has a restriction of 50 messages every three hours. If users start a new
chat session, it will not revert to the GPT-3.5 model, which will save the
hassle of changing the AI model and certainly save time and add convenience.
This new default is for ChatGPT Plus, which means only ChatGPT Plus users will
see GPT-4 as the new default.


LONGER FOLLOW-UPS

ChatGPT will maintain the flow of conversation, which means that when you ask a
new question, it will remember to follow up on the question you asked before.
Previously, ChatGPT only remembered some of the conversations, but now it goes
further than before. This will improve the user experience of back-and-forth
questions and responses.

The same feature has been released if you have been using Microsoft Bing. The
Bing AI chatbot can remember the last 30 questions you asked, and once you cross
that mark, it suggests users start a new session. Similar functionality has been
added to ChatGPT, but it has yet to disclose how long it can remember or the
total number of conversations you can follow up with.


LONGER LOGGED-IN

There is a redesigned ChatGPT with a new login page. Previously, users could
only stay logged in for two weeks, but now they can stay logged in for longer
durations.




CHATGPT SHORTCUT KEY



To help users complete their tasks faster, ChatGPT has introduced keyboard
shortcuts designed for productivity, making ChatGPT more accessible. Some
examples include Ctrl + Shift + C to copy a block.

The company is continuously upgrading the web-based interface and functionality
of ChatGPT, providing more capabilities. This makes ChatGPT one of the best AI
chatbots, allowing users to do more things easily. As for ChatGPT Plus users,
they not only have access to all the latest GPT models but also the ability to
access new features like Custom Instructions and more.

Currently, ChatGPT Plus has no updates, and the price for ChatGPT Plus remains
$20 per month. ChatGPT Plus users are already enjoying faster-advanced modes,
accuracy, and functionality. It is worth noting that OpenAI is also facing tough
competition from Google’s Bar and Anthropic’s Cloud. Reportedly, Meta will also
launch its AI chatbot next month as an emerging and potent challenger in the AI
chatbot industry.

ChatGPT will have major improvements with every update, and with the underlying
GPT model, accuracy and transparency enhance the experience. OpenAI is committed
to improving the experience, and the chatbot will feel more natural with the
ability to generate human-like text with prompts.

For the future, OpenAI has also filed a GPT-5 trademark to ensure intellectual
property, but the company still needs to start working on GPT-5. ChatGPT will
use GPT-4 as the underlying technology, as GPT-3 will be discontinued starting
next year.
