Woody’s Wood Works are having a clearance sell on some of his clocks for $65
that is about $30 off!

CONVERT OLD TYPWRITER TO USB KEYBOARD

in Miscellanous

I was told about this little gadget, called USB Typewriter,  that could turn an
old typewriter into a USB keyboard. They have some great video on their site. I
am hoping to pickup a 1920-1930’s era Underwood (Standard or No. 5) or possibly
a Royal Model 10 typewriter for conversion.

Imagine wrapping a nice wooden frame with some brass work around that tablet or
monitor it would look very cool and I was thinking that this could be useful for
a media computer.

TUBE CLOCK FOR BREWING/PUB AREA

I purchased the VFD Tube Alarm clock with a zebra wood base, it is gorgeous. I
would recommend Woodys Wood Works, he was a delight to deal with and we love
ours. I put it in a Hobby Lobby candle holder, this will be one of the center
piece items in the Victorian/Steampunk brewing/bar area that I will be building
this summer.

DIY STIR PLATE

Posted by tkg on July 3, 2013 with Comments Closed
in Brewing

I want to start doing some yeast starters and eventually some yeast harvesting
in an attempt to cut the costs of brewing down. One of the ways to accelerate
the process is using a stir plate to keep the yeast started oxygenated. One good
article on Brew Your Own‘s web site on how to build a DIY stir plate gave me a
great idea, well I thought it was, for another steampunky sort of useful
decoration.

This is a project that I haven’t started yet, I am in the material acquisition
phase.
