WELCOME TO ZOE & JACOB'S MINECRAFT SERVER

This server is for the "Bedrock" version of Minecraft.

You can connect from PC, iOS, Android, and Chromebook.

It is also possible to connect from PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch with
some changes to your DNS settings.

HOW TO CONNECT TO THE SERVER

This server is only comptible with the Bedrock version on Minecraft. The only
version of Minecraft that will not work on this server is Minecraft Java edition
on PC. All other editions of Minecraft can be connected directly, or with some
DNS workarounds due to console limitations.

CONNECTING FROM PC, IOS, AND ANDROID

Connecting from PC, iOS, and Android is simple. Everything is supported directly
in the user interface. Instructions on how to connect via these platforms are as
follows:

Once you have Minecraft open, press the Play button.

Navigate to the Servers tab.

On the Servers tab, press the Add Server button. This is normally right at the
bottom of the Server list. You pay get a warning about connecting to servers you
trust. Click Proceed to continue.

Enter the following Server Name, Server Address, and Port.

 * Server Name: Coombes Server (you can call this whatever you like)
 * Server Address: minecraft.coombes.nz
 * Port: 19132

Press Play to join and play the server immediately, or press Save to add the
server to the servers list so you can easily get back to it again.

CONNECTING FROM A CONSOLE (PLAYSTATION, XBOX, NINTENDO)

Connecting to the server from a console is a bit more complicated compared to
adding from a non-console device. Due to limitations that the console
manufacturers impose, you cannot add a personal server to the server list using
the same Add Server button listed above.

There is a custom solution that has been made to get around this called Bedrock
Connect

Bedrock Connect tricks Minecraft into thinking that the listed Featured Servers
are unavailable using DNS to redirect, and will take you to a world that then
allows you to enter the IP of the world you want to connect to.

Here is the final result in action https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uz-XYXAxd8Q

Here are tutorials to get yourself set up on each system:

 * Switch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zalT_oR1nPM
 * Xbox: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8mHvasVHMs
 * PS4/PS5: https://youtu.be/0MJVVhDeu2s?t=347

Once you have the DNS settings in place and connect to a featured server, you
can then enter the details to our Minecraft server instead:

Enter the following Server Address and Port.

 * Server Address: minecraft.coombes.nz
 * Port: 19132

You can seelect to "Add to server list" so the server is remembered next time
you attempt to join.

Click submit to join the server.
