We are trained to a nationally recognised level by the ambulance service and deliver basic life support and defibrillation to patients in cardiac arrest. As well as other treatment including oxygen administration for various emergency situations prior to the arrival of the nearest available ambulance resource. Responders are ‘called out’ by West Midlands Ambulance Service if they can reach a life threatening situation quicker than an Ambulance Crew. Community First Responders normally cover an area approximately seven minutes travelling time from their home or work place responding to: CARDIAC ARRESTS HEART ATTACKS STROKES CHOKING DIABETIC EMERGENCIES TRAUMATIC EMERGENCIES Discover More Here QUEENS AWARD IN 2018 THE GROUP’S ACTIVITIES WERE RECOGNISED WHEN THEY WERE PRESENTED WITH THE QUEEN’S AWARD FOR VOLUNTARY SERVICE. The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service is the highest award given to local volunteer groups across the UK to recognise outstanding work done in their own communities. We are extremely honoured and proud to be awarded this accolade.
