IT’S ALL IN THE DETAILS

ITM has been providing precision machining services to the manufacturing
industry since its founding in 1929 and remains a key provider of those services
today. ITM’s manufacturing center possesses machining capabilities from
conventional mills and lathes to 3-, 4- and 5-axis CNC machining centers and CNC
routing equipment with a skilled staff that are experienced in the processing of
customer 3-D CAD models in various formats and utilize Computer-Aided
Manufacturing (CAM) software for programming CNC machine tools for the
generation of high quality and efficient machining to meet customer
requirements. In addition, ITM also provides welding and fabrication support for
customer-driven projects. Housed in ITM’s 20,000 sq. ft. manufacturing center
(adjacent to its 15,000 sq. ft. systems integration facility), this production
facility provides precision machining and fabrication services in support of
both ITM-developed production systems as well as customer’s urgent machining,
fabrication and repair demands.

We continue to invest in the latest technology, equipment, and training to
provide optimum machining capabilities that exceed the manufacturing and
research industry’s demands for quality, precision, and performance.

FROM PAPER TO REALITY

Quality precision machining transforms a print drawing, created in a CAD
(Computer-Aided Design) or CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) program such as
SOLIDWORKS or GibbsCAM, from a piece of raw material to a part ready for
post-processing and assembly. The software allows for the complex geometry to be
detailed and produced in both 3-D models and 2-D drawings for machining.
Machinists must accurately program (CNC) or manually machine the parts according
to these prints. Depending on the complexity, a variety of machining process may
be needed to manufacture a single part including any combination of lathes,
milling machines, drill presses, saws, and grinders. CNC (computer numerically
controlled) devices require programming but provide a heightened level of
controlled precision and repeatability when manufacturing parts.
