BACKGROUND OF SLG

The Statistical Learning Group (SLG) was formed at Department of Statistics,
University of Rajshahi under the leadership of Dr. Mohammad Nasser in 2000 to
face the challenges of the new millennium. Initially the name of this research
group was Diagnostic and Robust Statistics (DRS) Research Group upto the end of
2000s

The DRS research group started with the leading statisticians of Bangladesh
working in this area. Its ky persion Dr. Mohammad Nasser is the first robust
statistician in Bangladesh. In addition to Dr. Nasser, key advisors of this
group Dr. Rahmatullah Imon, Dr. Md. Mesbah Ul Alam and Dr. Md. Jahanur Rahman
are the leading statistician in modern statistical areas in Bangladesh. This
group contains a number of young, energetic, enthusiastic and innovative
academics and research
