Elite 2022 Ventura, CA 96 129 430 6/12/2022 FIRE FIRE FIRE I was so glad my first time coming. Had to wait a bit but when we were in line they opened up the other window. Can't wait to come back and try it again. Eating out the back of the truck or the standing room is the way to do it. You gotta eat it hot and fresh. Getting extra chili's and pickles is the best because they just throw it in some paper and you dish it out to each other. Biting off the tip of the chili and dumping the juice into your food is the pro move. I hope you're doing this. When we came late night after a dodger game we parked right into the parking lot, there is a whole other parking lot across the street, owned by Tommy's. I didn't want chili on my burger, so they recommended a California burger. Despite being a little crowded, the service was fast. I wish they had indoor sit down seating, but that's not the type of place that is. I drove over to nearby MacArthur Park to park at the park and eat. Wow! That was one of the best burgers I've had in a LONG time! The fries were good, and a basic combo comes with a 32-ounce drink! The portion was plentiful for the price, and that was a lot of drink! The burger was nothing like it used to be. The buns were dry and hard. They use to be soft almost like they were slightly steamed. Haven't had a better chili cheese fries in my 43 years on Earth, yet. Are they messy? Yup. Do they look disgusting? Yup. Will they give you some heartburn? Yup. Will they make you shit within an hour? Yup. But you know what? There is nothing like them anywhere else. Tonight the fries weren't that crispy. They were definitely sitting around and not freshly fried. I ordered my fries and literally 30 seconds later they were handed to me. Chili was bomb as usual, even had more spice/kick than I remembered. Cheese was pretty melted (at least all of it under the chili.....there was a corner that wasn't melted fully) and gooey. The fries though were a tad off. Still a delicious order of chili cheese fries, but I have had much better orders from Tommy's before. 24/7 is awesome! Will definitely come back next time I'm in LA. It's not the best place but it is an experience and a good one at that. For me it's a sentimental one in that I starting eating here when I was in High School 46 years ago. I still make the drive once in a while to visit the original Tommys, like I did today. It will be 76 years old in a couple of weeks. Parking available in two lots. Prices are reasonable. The burger itself was very tasty, and the chili was nicely seasoned making this such a great burger. And the fries were cooked and salted to perfection. This is my favorite fast food place to eat. You have to love chilli if you eat here! If you love chilli this is the place for you! I really don't understand how people who don't love chilli come to eat here and then complain that it's too greasy or too plain. Yes it will be greasy yes it will be messy why? Because its chilli there's no fun without it thats what makes it worth wild. Dont come here expecting a in n out burger cause it's not go some place else if youre looking for that kind of burger, This place was born for people that love 24/7 service if youre craving a burger in the morning which to me is the best time to eat at this place because then youre full the whole day in my opinion lol. You can come any time any day. This place is just too good to pass up. I always get the chilli cheese burger and chilli cheese fries. Be prepared to get messy lol but you will enjoy it. Also the amazing peppers you have to ask for them if you want some it used to be outside by the ketchup but since some people take the whole bunch they started giving it only if you ask when they give you your food. Give this place a try if youre not on a diet and not scared to get messy. I will forever love this place. Now on the service they give is another topic: Now a days there's a whole new group of newbies i believe that obviously don't like there job ive been coming here since i was a kid. There is still a few OG employees that still work there so they know my me and my family. Thank god they are still there because you can tell the difference between the new and old employees. Theres especially this new one in particular i wont say the name but its a girl to narrow it down everytime ive gone and she's there she always has a grumpy nasty attitude when shes up front. The new employees need a little bit more training make the customers feel welcome because the old one stayed with the welcoming attitude but these new ones make you feel like an awkward vibe and you don't want people like that making your food. Hopefully service changes but hey to the ones that like the job you make Tommys the welcoming place it has been since i was a lil kid thank you. The lines for waiting get pretty big sometimes but its worth the wait. The food is cheap. THIS LOCATION is the best one ive heard the other locations are just not the same, Thanks tommys.
