Applications are open for the UNESCO-APCEIU 10th Youth Leadership Workshop on
Global Citizenship Education (GCED). GCED is a transformative educational
paradigm that empowers young individuals by providing them with the necessary
knowledge, skills, and values to make a positive impact on an increasingly
complex and interconnected world. T

The Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding (APCEIU) is
organizing the 10th Youth Leadership Workshop on GCED online from 29 April to 10
May 2024, in partnership with the GCED Youth Network, under the theme of “Youth
Voices for Transforming Education through GCED.” This Workshop annually brings
together 50 young leaders from across the globe, serving as a dynamic platform
for discussion, idea exchange, networking, and mutual learning on GCED and youth
advocacy.



With over 400 young changemakers from diverse backgrounds since 2015, the
Workshop embodies a commitment to fostering global citizenship and solidarity
for a transformed tomorrow. Youth committed to promoting GCED and making
positive changes are invited to join this journey of empowerment, where the
voices of young leaders will resonate as powerful agents of change, sharing
their aspirations for a more peaceful and sustainable future.

Benefits

50 youth leaders actively engaged in GCED from ODA recipient countries and the
Republic of Korea


 * Intensive & interactive 1-week Online workshop with international experts and
   youth leaders;
 * Networking with youth leaders around the world;
 * Invitation to APCEIU’s international forums and workshops/networks of youth
   and educators;
 * Mentorship and Grant opportunity: Selected winners receive grants of up to
   $1000 and mentorship for follow-up initiatives

Eligibility

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

 * Born between 1996 and 2004.
 * Citizens of the Official Development Aid (ODA) recipient countries and UNESCO
   member states. Refer to the Annex for the eligible countries. Citizens of the
   Republic of Koreas can also apply.
 * Minimum 2 years of active experience in youth activities.
 * Completion of the e-learning course titled “GCED for Youth” on GCED Online
   Campus before the application deadline. Course Certificate must be attached
   in the application.
 * Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Application

Application must be submitted by April 14, 2024. Notification of selection will
be sent by April 23, 2024 by email. All selected participants must register by
April 25, 2023.

 * Take the pre-requisite e-learning course ‘GCED for Youth’ at GCED Online
   Campus
 * Submit the application form
