OBITUARY

DARRIL RAYBURN GIBSON

SEPTEMBER 1, 1958 – SEPTEMBER 8, 2022

Unfortunately, reports of my demise are not greatly exaggerated. Darril Gibson,
age 64, died on September 8th, 2022. It was a long yearlong battle fighting
sarcoma cancer; the tumor started in a kidney and grew, spreading to other
organs in stealth mode without giving any clues of the mini bombs they were
planting.

Darril always loved the “knowledge transfer thing” and spent more than a dozen
years in front of classrooms teaching others. In fact, ever since he saw his
neighbor’s eyes light up after he taught her how to tell time from a clock, he’s
been in love with sharing his knowledge with others. They were both about 6 or
7, and for the younger crowd out there, this was an analog clock, not a digital
one.

After a 22-year Navy career working with computers and electronics, Darril
retired as a Master Chief. He then went on and filled a dream becoming a
full-time author and writing books that help others. Since then, he has
authored, coauthored, or contributed to more than 40 books that will live on
helping others. One of his true joys in life is receiving emails from readers
letting him know about their successes after using one of his books. It didn’t
stop in the classroom or with his books; Darril was quick to teach anyone who
came to him for assistance. He founded the Get Certified Get Ahead brand,
helping tens of thousands of people get certified and get ahead in their jobs
and careers.

His love of life did not limit him to writing and teaching. With his wife at his
side, they set out on adventures that took them all over the world, granting
them experiences that many might only wonder about. His generosity knew no
bounds. If he could give, he did. His motto was: Life is meant to be fun,
fulfilling, and filled with fabulous fortunes.

One of his greatest joys was gardening. He was a Master Gardener and loved to
work in his garden. He was quick to help his sister, Dawn, plan what to do in
her garden in California. She now has a vibrant garden that reminds her of him
daily.

Darril is survived by the love of his life, Nimfa Gibson (also known as Wonder
Woman), his dog Perry, Nicole Ostrowski (Darril’s partner at the Vegas craps
table) and his favorite little sister, Dawn Grzena.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Sarcoma Foundation
of America.

   Darril,

I will never forget my interview day when you said you also loved Paulo
Coelho. I just knew then that you are special and one of a kind.

Today is a sad day for me knowing you already passed away; however, I take
consolation in knowing you are now in God's gentle hands.

You have always been kind and generous. You will always be remembered.

Praying for courage and strength to all of your loved ones as they continue
   to embark on life's journey.

Gina and I are so sorry and shocked to hear of Darril’s passing. We were
friends of Nimfa and Darril and were stationed together in the Philippines
and later visited them in Pensacola years later. Darril sent my son one of
his books when he was younger. My favorite memory of Darril was from the
Philippines. I asked him to perform his magic for the kids in my Wife Gina’s
family neighborhood. The kids loved the show and were mesmerized by his
magic. Like most of my friends from the Navy we went different directions
after retirement but kept in touch occasionally via Social Media. Our sincere
condolences and prayers to Nimfa, Dawn and the entire Family. Fair Winds and
Following Seas Master Chief. We Have the Watch!

No words describe the chasm in my heart since you transitioned to god. You
were always steadfast in your support and love for me and I know you will be
close by while I continue my journey here on earth. I could not have designed
or asked for a better big brother to do this thing here on earth with.

I love you and will miss you beyond measure. I know you'll visit me when I'm
   gardening (please visit often).

Love your bestest, most favorite baby sister.
