Auckland-based economist Julian Grennell has been appointed as the new President
and Chairman of the Cancer Society of New Zealand.

STRONG PUBLIC SUPPORT FOR ALCOHOL POLICY ACTION

There is considerable support from New Zealanders for government to take policy
action to reduce people’s exposure to alcohol and dietary cancer risk factors in
their environment, new research from the University of Otago shows.

HPV SELF-TEST A POWERFUL TOOL FOR INCREASING NZ CERVICAL SCREENING RATES

The new human papilloma virus (HPV) self-test being rolled out this week in
Aotearoa/New Zealand is “a powerful tool for increasing screening rates”,
according to a researcher who has for the past seven years worked on Kaupapa
Māori and Māori-led projects related to HPV self-testing.
