The “2nd Open Balkan Digestive Oncology Expert Meeting,” organized by the
Association of Digestive Oncology of Serbia (ADOS), is set to be a landmark

meeting will delve into the pivotal role of artificial intelligence (AI) in the
prevention and treatment of digestive cancers.

HIGH-TECH TREATMENTS AND AI TAKE THE STAGE

The 2nd Open Balkan Digestive Oncology Expert Meeting, hosted by the Association
of Digestive Oncology of Serbia (ADOS), will focus on the latest advancements in
the management of digestive cancers. Topics include novel approaches in systemic
therapy for esophageal and stomach cancers, including new targeted therapies and
immunotherapies. The meeting will also address advancements in the treatment of
biliopancreatic carcinomas, emphasizing the role of personalized medicine. A
significant discussion point will be the treatment strategies for
oligometastatic digestive cancers, exploring the potential of localized
therapies like stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT).

The 2nd Open Balkan Digestive Oncology Expert Meeting, organized by the
Association of Digestive Oncology of Serbia (ADOS), promises to be a

oncology. With over 45 expert speakers from across the region and beyond, the

Key sessions will cover the latest advancements in the systemic therapy of
esophageal and stomach cancer, novel approaches to biliopancreatic carcinomas,
and innovative treatment strategies for oligometastatic digestive cancers.
Additionally, the meeting will delve into the evolving management of rectal
cancer, particularly the debate between total neoadjuvant therapy (TNT) and
surgery. The agenda also emphasizes the importance of innovations and artificial
intelligence in oncology, as well as the role of radiology, SBRT, and nuclear
medicine in treating metastatic colorectal cancer.
