Have we now got an age restriction on this board to stop younger fans viewing
it?

Yesterday we had the thread on the woman with 100 partners, complete with you
tube reports and advance warning of her attempt on the world record next year.
Today weve got a thread asking about threesomes.

Are we allowing this crap to continue or are you planning to open an Only Boro
Fans board at some stage?

What’s crap about discussing the morality and ethics of what happened with the

Nothing. it certainly needs to be discussed.

But if you had a 10 year old son who was a Boro fan , would you be happy for him
to be adding his point of view.
Or would you feel that there is a morality and ethics about who was involved in
the discussion?

Is it something you would be happy discussing sitting down with your 10 year old
son over Sunday lunch with his grandma or might it be something better discussed
down the pub with the lads on Friday night?

And would you allow your ten year old son unfettered access to the internet or
would you apply a level of parental control. If a parent allows access to a
website should they not assess the content level of that site and judge / apply
controls accordingly?

To be honest with you, it has never occurred to me that there might be kids
reading this website. The in-joke on here is that it’s mainly occupied by
pensioners. Not once have I seen a post that has suggested that kids have posted
on, or read, this forum, until yours just now.

But if kids do read this then, certainly, the admin should delete any
inappropriate content.

But then in that case should any non-football subject be allowed - because there
are lots of topics on many subjects on any site that might have differences of
opinions or potential stuff parents might not want their child to see?

I drew the line and stopped my kids from coming on here when Gestede was being
discussed. At the ages of 37 and 27, I feel it is too much for their delicate
minds.

There are other Boro forums not too far away whom I`de have far more concern
with, than FMTTM.
The violence and "immorality" on your average television screen and that on
x-box games where death and killing gets the kids points, is just as worrying,
if not more so.
Unfortunately, there's plenty of crap out there which kids access, like
digesting their cornflakes.

Kids should never be associated with watching or discussing the Boro. It is too
upsetting. Wait until they are 18 before allowing them to experience this
punishment!

So by extension any part of the internet that could be accessed by a ten year
old should have its content reduced to the level of a ten year old. Wonder if
everything I hear in the North stand on Saturday will be appropriate for a ten
year old. Or should the content on this boro football forum be appropriate for
the north and south stands as that is the intended audience.

I think the content is fine. Like I say, I’ve never heard anyone complain that
the topics on here are too risqué for kids to read, up until this thread. I’m
not even sure why the post about the woman and 100 men was deleted. There was
nothing pornographic posted on there. The threesome thread wasn’t something that
I was interested in, so I didn’t open it. There’s plenty of other subjects on
here for people to read without having to delete the ones that you think might
be unsavoury.

We have a report function.
If you are concerned about the suitability of content on here, you can use it.
We can then assess the thread/post and take appropriate action.
It's much better than starting a thread about another thread.
If I was ten years old, I'd most likely have opened this thread and gone
straight to the sex related stuff to check whether or not it was indeed
unsuitable material for my innocent eyes.

On a tediously practical level, if you're using any kind of parental controls on
kids devices, discussion forums are generally inaccessible except by exception.

Doesn't stop them finding ways to bypass it, but I can't imagine wading through
the tiresome droning and point scoring on here would exactly represent the holy
grail of unfeterred access.

If I had a 10 year old, I'd discuss it with them, openly and without
embarrassment. And I'd make sure I'd focus on the damage to women by the men
involved and how, though it's a free world, when they grow up I'd hope they
would treat themselves and others with more respect than everyone involved in
this sad example of trashy human behaviour.

At 10 years old children in this country are held as being criminally
responsible I.e they can be charged with a criminal offence.

They do go away from adult supervision daily, they are likely to know all the
swear words that we do, and they talk about sex.

You either want to have input into their sexual perceptions and attitudes or you
don’t.

Personally I made sure we did discuss topical news items like this so myself and
their mother could have them understand how horribly she was assaulted and
abused and how the men’s behaviour in abusing her made them pathetic bullies who
committed one of the worst crimes on the books

After all this is about helping them find where the lines are generally drawn In
sexual matters. If they cross the line of consent they will be arrested and
charged.
