Two weeks removed from a set of losses that sent Democratic leaders into a
tailspin, the years-long ideological battle between the progressive left and
centrists has once again come to a head as both sides fight to shift blame and
take the reins of the future direction of the party.

With the party grappling with how to prepare for midterm elections in two years,
uncertainty about who will take over the Democratic National Committee, and
expected internal debates over how to handle complete Republican control in the
White House and on Capitol Hill, Democrats don’t have much time to find
consensus on their path forward.
