Whenever I go out with my girlfriend she doesn't like when I try to pay for
stuff. She also doesn't really like it when I pay for half either. In the past,
I've slipped money into her purse (half of whatever our meal or whatever was)
while she wasn't looking and she wasn't very impressed when she found it. Is
this normal? It doesn't bother me that she wants to help pay, but I feel bad
when she's spending all this money whenever we go out.

EDIT: I am going to address a few things that have been asked

Both of us are out of college

I am older

I make more money

I have obviously spoken to her about this

Obviously, different people are different, I was asking if it's a cultural thing

The n=1 dude you sound like a pseudointellectual who spends all day on Reddit
acting smart painfully unaware of how much of a dickhead you are.

I went to use my buildings gym to run on the treadmill. When I arrived there
were only two other people in there, a man using the rowing machine and a man
lifting free weights. It’s a big gym with many machines and weights. About 10
minutes into my run the rowing man comes over and uses the machine directly
behind me despite at least a dozen other possibilities. I stopped my run and
moved 3 treadmills over and the man immediately cleaned his machine and left.

I am a white Australian born female who has a large group of friends of
different nationalities. It is normal for us to roast and joke with each other
using stereotypes regarding our race. This is never done in a malicious or
serious way.

Someone (also white Australian) recently overhead me joking with a friend about
a ‘typical’ Asian stereotype

I am now being accused of being racist… my friends think it’s hilarious and have
dismissed it, they’re saying this person is being offended on their behalf just
for the sake of it but I’m worried I’m being racist.

Thoughts?

Edit- This was mentioned in a few comments so might be relevant- the banter
always goes both ways and often is self-deprecating humour rather than direct
racist jokes.

I don't know if this is the right subreddit to ask this question, but I'm
curious... I've been doing some research on Japan and came across the concept of
"Nanpa" : men stopping women in the streets to ask them out. Generally, they'll
ask you out for lunch or will ask to join you if you go out to eat somewhere;
sometimes, they'll go straight to the point and ask if you want to go with them
to the (love) hotel.

I've seen many people sharing their experience with being nanpa'ed, but has
anyone ever did the mistake of saying "yes" to one of these "nanpa" guys ? And
if so, what happened after that ?

Btw, I'm sorry if there's any mistake, English isn't my first language.
