According to 49 CFR 172.704, DOT hazardous materials training is required for personnel classified as “hazmat employees,” defined at 49 CFR 171.8 as employees who perform any job functions that affect the safe transportation of hazardous materials, including personnel who: * Load, unload, or handle hazardous materials * Label, mark, inspect, or design packages * Place hazardous materials into packages * Prepare hazardous materials for transportation * Prepare bills of lading or hazardous waste manifests * Operate a vehicle used to transport hazardous materials Bring your questions to this live online course where you will learn how to: * Determine which of the materials shipped from your site are classified as hazardous materials * Select packages that meet DOT requirements for your hazardous materials * Properly fill and close packages * Mark, label, and placard hazardous materials * Take advantage of exceptions for limited quantities and materials of trade * Complete and certify accurate shipping papers * Implement recent changes to the hazardous materials table * Provide emergency instructions and ensure the safety of hazardous materials * Comply with requirements for emergency phone numbers, hazardous material ID numbers, and batteries * Satisfy your security awareness training requirement * Learn when DOT security plans and in-depth security training are required Receive your required training and learn how to comply with all regulations at this interactive webcast.
