THE SWEET BENEFITS OF URBAN BEEKEEPING

Bringing bees to your building is a sustainable initiative that rallies people
together and highlights a variety of issues related to the environment - with
the added benefit of producing local honey to share with your community.



A SEASON IN THE CITY WITH BEES

Our turnkey service ensures every part of the season is seen to, from
safeguarding the well-being of your bees to providing you with educational
workshops and helping you create a lasting bond between your people and bees.
1 Installation

Our urban beekeeping specialists find the ideal location for your hives
according to your building’s specificities. A well-planned project is safe and
engaging.

2 Visits & workshops

We visit your hives throughout the season to make sure your bees are happy and
healthy. Hour-long workshops are part of all our packages and scheduled
according to your availability.

3 Honey harvest

At the end of the season, we harvest your honey frames and take them back to our
honey facility for extraction. You’ll end up with 100 jars of honey per hive,
customized by our designer with your building’s very own label.

By opting for two hives, you will… :


 * Harvest twice as much honey.
 * Improve your learning experience by being able to compare between each of
   your colonies.
 * Help your queens be properly mated: a queen must be mated by males from
   another hive.
 * Increase the chance of your hives surviving the winter: they can be wrapped
   together and will share heat.

NEWS AND IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR THE 2018 SEASON!


 * It's easier to change a visit. On your new Alvéole online account, available
   in early 2018, you will now be able to change the date and time of a visit up
   to 3 days before it's scheduled.
 * Receive your entire honey harvest. You now get to enjoy all the honey
   produced by your bees.
 * Monthly payments over 6 months instead of 12 months. By popular demand,
   monthly payments stretch from June to November, following the beekeeping
   season.
 * End of the hive rental service. Unfortunately, Alvéole can no longer offer
   hive rentals. You can purchase your colony and spring kit for a discounted
   price of $300 (value of $410).
 * No more deposits. If you paid a $250 deposit, you will be credited in full on
   your hive, equipment or service.
 * Receive a free class. Register for a free beekeeping class if you renew your
   service before January 1st, 2018! You will be contacted for the free
   registration following your renewal.


We hope that these changes better suit your needs and allow us to offer you the
best service possible for years to come!

BEEKEEPING BASICS

Are you just starting out as a beekeeper? This condensed class will introduce
you to the basics you need to know: bees and their colonies, the equipment
required and the first operations of the season.





PERFECTING YOUR SKILLS

Already have some experience as a beekeeper? Go from a “Bee” to an ‘A’ and take
your hive growth to new heights. Topics to expect: separation and creation of
nucs, space management, swarms, treatment and wintering.

Customize your honey harvest with personalized labels showcasing your brand,
ideal for use as marketing collateral to promote your project and to spread
ecological awareness.


HANDS-ON WORKSHOPS

Whether it’s opening up and inspecting a real hive full of buzzing bees or
participating in a honey extraction from hive to jar, these workshops provide
the best opportunities for engaging your people.


INSPIRATIONAL CONFERENCES

These hour-long immersive conferences set the table for deeper, more meaningful
interactions with bees and aim to create a bridge between people and their

COMMUNICATION KIT

This turnkey communication kit contains an array of tools (invitations, posters,
press kit, and one-pagers) that can be used internally or externally to promote
your project.


PRODUCTS FROM THE HIVE

These natural products are derived from honey and beeswax and packaged in a
personalized box with your logo, perfect for selling or sharing with your
community, or as a gift for staff or clients.


EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS

Our workshops aim to build a bridge between students and their beekeeping
project. They include compelling hour-long presentations on honey bees or wild
bees, as well as a hands-on experience opening a hive or extracting honey.

This is a great way to increase education around your beekeeping project with a
