SKYWEAVER BEGINNER GUIDES PART 3: TRAITS

Zygote September 3, 2022 4 min read

Hello weavers, whether you are new or a returning player, it is always nice to
have knowledge about traits that exist in Skyweaver. If you have played other
card games before, you may know traits as keywords. Traits in Skyweaver allow
our cards to have different roles and effects. These can be for various uses
including dealing damage, protection, or some sneaky tactics. Let’s investigate
the traits in Skywevaer in more detail!

1-) Guard: Guard is one of the traits that makes Skywevar a very tactical game.
Guard can be considered a defensive ability but at the same time, it can create
new attacking opportunities for your hero and for your units. Units with a guard
protect your hero, if there is a unit on the board with a guard trait, the enemy
player can’t attack your hero with their units or with their hero before killing
the guard. Units with guard are always placed to the right side of the hero. One
of the most effective ways of getting rid of a guard is giving them Chains,
which makes a unit lose its traits.

on the right image.

2-) Stealth: Stealth is a sneaky trait that you can take advantage of in
Skyweaver. Units with stealth are always placed on the left side of your hero
and they hide there. They can’t be attacked by other units or by enemy hero,
unless your hero takes damage. So if you have a stealth unit on board, the enemy
player must deal damage to your hero somehow on their turn and after that, they
can attack your stealth units. Please note that your opponent can still deal
damage to them with spells even though your hero is not damaged.

3-) Banner: The hero can be the most unique aspect of Skyweaver, and the banner
trait is a very unique ability that compliments your hero. A 1-32 on board that
can attack is already strong, imagine increasing that attack power, now it’s
much better. When there is a unit on board or a spell played with the banner
trait, your hero gains one more attack power. You can use this to destroy enemy
units or to deal damage to the enemy hero.

Hero has a +1 attack because Songbird has banner (unit on the left)

4-) Wither: Like banner, wither is also a very unique ability that allows you to
make tactical moves. When a unit or a spell with wither damages another unit,
that unit loses power depending on the power of the unit or spell. May sound
complex so let’s give an example. If Skeeter hits The Beast, The Beast will lose
2 health, and at the same time, it will lose 2 power becoming a 4-4. If we hit
it with Scorch, it will do the same effect. While using wither spells and units
try to be extra careful, because some of those cards deal damage also to your
units. “If you are reading this guide in the future, the stats of the mentioned
cards might have changed”

Enemy units lose their attack with their HP because of Spore Blast

5-) Lifesteal: Lifesteal is a very simple yet very fun and tactical trait that
exists in Skyweaver. Simply when a unit or spell with lifesteal deals damage to
the enemy hero, your hero gains health according to the power of the unit or
spell. For example, if you hit the enemy hero with Elderfall your hero will gain
2 health. If you hit the enemy hero with Rocket your hero will gain 4 health.
The ability can become very useful to take the game into later stages or to just
save your hero from dying.

6-) Armor: Another interesting and very useful ability. Units or heroes with
armor take one less damage from everything. Let’s look into it directly with an
example. If we attack Geod with Desire, Geod will take 3 damage instead of
taking 4. The same scenario will happen if we try to attack it with Incinerate.
This 1 damage difference can be very effective and can allow you to dominate the
board. Especially if you can buff the units with armor, they can become very
hard to deal with.

7-) Dash: Dash is the newest ability that was added to the Sky on the date am
writing this guide. Units with dash can attack the enemy units on the turn that
they summoned. Normally units can’t attack anything on the turn they are
summoned. Units with dash have this special ability to attack the turn they are
summoned, but please note that they can only attack to the units, they can’t
attack the enemy hero on the turn they are summoned. The ability can be very
useful because you don’t have to wait another turn after you play the unit to be
able to deal with enemy units. You can deal with enemy units by using spells as
well, but when you play a unit you can also gain board dominance. It is up to
you to decide on which option is better depending on your situation.

In this guide we covered the traits in Skyweaver, I hope you enjoyed it. You can

am dropping a link to our Glossary page and to our Discord. See you in the Sky!
