HOW TO REMOVE MIRROR FROM WALL If you’re wondering how to take a mirror off the wall, then you’re in the right place. Here’s a step by step process of how to remove a large or small mirror that’s glued or clipped to the wall without breaking it. STEP 1: INSPECT THE MIRROR Each mirror is installed differently based on how the contractor who installed it choose to do it. We will throughly inspect how the mirror was installed so we can remove it without causing any damage to your wall. The mirror removal process will vary based on if the mirror is clipped or glued to the wall. STEP 2: SECURE THE MIRROR AND ATTACH SUCTION CUPS During the mirror removal process there’s a chance that the mirror could break when it’s removed. In order to avoid that from happening, we cover the mirror with heavy-duty packing tape. We also protect your nearby valuables with a blanket in order to prevent them getting them damaged or unclean. Once all of that is done, we will attach vacuum suction cups to the mirror that come with grips so that we can pull it off of the wall and handle it safely. STEP 3: WEDGE SOME WOODEN SHIMS BEHIND THE MIRROR We will wedge some wooden shims behind the mirror to make it easier to pull it off of the wall. STEP 4: PULL ON THE SUCTION CUPS TO REMOVE THE MIRROR Our technicians will pull on the suction cups with varying degrees of intensity until the mirror detaches from the wall. STEP 5: REMOVE THE RESIDUAL ADHESIVE OR INSTALL A NEW MIRROR IN ITS PLACE Once the mirror is removed there will be some residual adhesive left on the wall that we will need to remove if you’re not deciding to replace the mirror with another one. If you do decide to replace it we can either install it using clips or by adding more adhesive to the mirror. STEP 6: PAINT THE WALL If you decide not to replace the mirror with another one we will paint the wall behind the mirror to match the surrounding wall’s color. It will be like the mirror was never even there. HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO REMOVE A WALL MIRROR? The average cost of removing and disposing of a wall mirror is anywhere from $200-$600 if you’re including removing the adhesive and painting your wall afterwards. If you have multiple mirrors that need to be removed, each additional mirror will cost an additional $100 to remove. There is potential for a bulk discount if there are many mirrors. While we know are not the cheapest company out there, by going with us you know that you’re getting the work done by glass experts who will not shatter the glass while removing it or damage your wall. If you decide to go with a cheap handyman, you run the risk of damaging your property and you will probably end up spending more in repair costs than if you had just hired us in the first place.
